Yes, i've tested beta60 today and the song sounds indeed much better now. Keep up the good work.

Hans, there's something pertaining to the functionality of VST plugin version of ST that I wanted to bring to your notice. It's about resampling. The plugin works fine at 44.1 KHz. Anything other than this, it actually plays the sound faster or slower. So, 32KHz sounds warm and slower than 44.1 Khz. On the other hand sampling at 48, 96 or 192 KHz makes it sound chirpier and play at a fast rate.

Just to make sure the problem isn't with the VST hosting app, I tried it on several of them. Namely, SoundForge, Audition(using a VST to DX adapter), dBpoweramp, foobar, Winamp. You name it. It's the same glitch.
I even downloaded the Standalone and Winamp DSP versions. Standalone doesnot have any problems concerning sampling rates at any resolution. Not sure of the Winamp DSP. Still working on it.

On what VST host(s) have you tested ST? Does it work fine on your system at sampling rates other than 44.1KHz?
It's not an SOS call, but just wanted to keep you informed, considering final release of ST 5.10 is around the corner. May be as an addition to your things-to-do list

Surprisingly the Winamp DSP version has a slower AGC gain rush than the VST and Standalone counterparts. However no issues with sampling rates.

Hans, Could you implement test tones for precise calibration of the FM transmitter?
Like Bessel Null 31187.6 Hz and 400 Hz tone and maybe some other useful tones to set Output volume.

Check on Fm calibration... tones are there too.!

400 Hz is a common tone and for precise calibration with a spectrum analyzer bessel null tones are the way to go. Both aren't there.

Bojcha:
- How did you get both Punch and strict clipping working? (In other words: Do you have a suggestion for other default settings)
- Do you think I should move the strict clipping (before Punch) to only the very low frequencies (below 150-300) instead of the current very low + low frequencies combined (400-800 Hz)?

I would most like punch filter before strct clip (Then Rize to..+strict)!

I have (almost) strict:
- Punch almost to end
- Max punch +18
- Then Rize to 0.57

Values are depend from other settings. If i set "Then Rize to" 58 bass goes more then 90-95%
Valuse slightly vary for FM and non-FM.
Then Rize to 0.57 - looks very low, but it's not in this case.

Here is the preset: ST Standalone (FM Preset)
I would like to know what all of you think. (picture Inside for loudness window)
Attachment:
222_punc__1.rar [222.22 KiB]

- Enough bass?
- Too much highs?
- mids?
etc

Try to push loudness more to see what will happen.

Bojcha: "Then rize to" IS strict (for the whole 0-400/800 Hz area) - the problem is that Punch breaks through afterwards. 0.57 is extremely low... Could it be that the frequency range must be changed to be able to push it higher?

What happens now:
1. VeryLow (0-150/300 Hz) clipping
2. Low (0-400/800 Hz) clipping, STRICT at 'Rize to' level (57% in your example)
3. Punch
4. Low (0-150/300 Hz) clipping, STRICT at 'Clip punched lowest bass at (dynamic)' level (95% in your example, since you're not listing another value)

So this means:
- During the 2nd step, no separate STRICT is done for the very low frequencies
- During the 4th step, frequencies above 150/300 Hz are NOT protected (so protection is full upto 150 Hz, then drops to none at all at 300 Hz, assuming default settings).

What I'm thinking:
For Punch (step 4): Maybe I need to use a slightly bigger frequency area than 0-150/300 Hz for this step. For example full protection upto 250 Hz or so.
For non-Punch (step 2): Maybe I (also?) need to clip the very low frequencies at the level that's configured for the very low frequencies.

No it's not low.. did you check preset. Bass is always on top.

If you turn off punch off bass will be not more then ~50%
It's true that this is not the way how all should work and be adjusted.

Just punch before strict, nothing more.. or another strict (Then rize to..) at end.
