Actually no, we can't really run more than one instance in Linux/Jack. Simply because a) the jack client name, which must be unique, is fixed to "stereotool" (and I don't like messing with the hex editor to change letters), abd b) all settings are stored in ~/stereotool.rc (or similar), so will get overriden bei whichever instances closes last. That gives funny results on startup. That's why some of us asked for command line options for the GUI on linux to sepcify jack client name and sts file to load.
But having multiple instances in ONE gui would be better, of course.
Don't quote me on this, but... I think you should be able to run multiple instances if you just copy the executable and give the copy another name ("stereotool2" for example)
