Yeah ,
Like i see you cannot fit the word "peaks" in "Sample not clipped when........" like in original.
So you need more space then.Thatswhy i told in the upper post that old ones are good enough in my opinion.
It looks good but..... no space...
User must understand for what is this option about, so text is more important than button view

Edit:
And this is exact same font size. Still shorter.

Slightly less space between characters. Looks like that will really help a lot - will try it.

So, before implementing it, let me gather some feedback first. Please respond to this post!

Reading all the feedback, it sounds like what I need to do is this:
You are not including all the feedback in forming your conclusion about what you need to do, only that feedback which is related to continuing what you are currently doing.

This is why I did the "hallelujah" before, because this time I am going to have to drone on about things and become irritating, which I truly do not like doing, but I also do not like having my opinions glossed over.

I understand what this is being designed for. I had a job in programming for a US Fortune 500 retailer, looking at going into touch screens and sigcap devices.

THOSE ARE NOT THE ONLY USERS OF YOUR PRODUCT.

Sure, they might be the trendy users that you want to try to attract, but THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY USERS OF YOUR PRODUCT.

What you are doing, by not showing any indication that you are understanding what Phoenix and I are saying about having multiple User Interfaces based on very different designs, is that you are running the risk of ALIENATING a segment of users. Ironically, this is what you are claiming that you're trying to avoid. You have stated that for new users, the previous interface was "too much", amongst other things.

Now, I know that since I don't give you money, you should devalue my opinion some, and I don't think badly of you if you do devalue my opinion some for that reason. That said though, my opinion being expressed here is not going to be an uncommon opinion.

Can you at least throw those of us who don't like the UI a bit of a bone and recognize what we're saying?

I'm trying to understand what you're saying. Maybe I'm missing something.

If I understand you correctly you have 2 complaints:

- Everything was way too big. The buttons are a lot smaller now and the font is also a lot smaller. I don't know if it's small enough - as I said I CAN make them even less high by putting the slider text and value on the same line.

- You don't want to have to click so much. Clear. I've noticed the same thing, it's annoying. That's indeed not improved - yet. But as you can probably see, there's more room now, so I can more easily combine multiple pages into a single page again.

If I do that, do I still miss something?

I've tried it, but if I use that spacing it looks really really dense. I don't like it - of course maybe others don't agree. I'll enable it in the next version to get feedback.

I'll run a build now containing the latest changes.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea (will try later) to make a preset that makes ST look a lot like standard Windows applications (except that the sliders will be drawn as they are now - but pull-downs, checkboxes etc. could look as normal Windows apps). That might look cleaner (not more beautiful or colorful, but it might help to quickly have an overview).

Hans,

Can you switch the upper and the lower pane, so you can get a pull-down for the whole menu?

http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 33-019.exe

Fixes:
- Horizontal line in waveform display
- Waveform display color is slightly too dark - why?
- Red part of waveform: Fix at higher input samplerates

Kinda done:
- Change checkbox design http://i.imgur.com/TBr3S.png http://i.imgur.com/YseoV.png http://i.imgur.com/zi49d.png (more changes needed; whole layout needs an update)

The new skin image files are available here: http://www.stereotool.com/download/SKIN.zip
