So, before implementing it, let me gather some feedback first. Please respond to this post!
Reading all the feedback, it sounds like what I need to do is this:
You are not including
all the feedback in forming your conclusion about what you need to do, only that feedback which is related to continuing what you are currently doing.
This is why I did the "hallelujah" before, because this time I am going to have to drone on about things and become irritating, which I truly do not like doing, but I also do not like having my opinions glossed over.
I understand what this is being designed for. I had a job in programming for a US Fortune 500 retailer, looking at going into touch screens and sigcap devices.
THOSE ARE NOT THE ONLY USERS OF YOUR PRODUCT.
Sure, they might be the trendy users that you want to try to attract, but THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY USERS OF YOUR PRODUCT.
What you are doing, by not showing any indication that you are understanding what Phoenix and I are saying about having multiple User Interfaces based on very different designs, is that you are running the risk of ALIENATING a segment of users. Ironically, this is what you are claiming that you're trying to avoid. You have stated that for new users, the previous interface was "too much", amongst other things.
Now, I know that since I don't give you money, you should devalue my opinion some, and I don't think badly of you if you do devalue my opinion some for that reason. That said though, my opinion being expressed here is not going to be an uncommon opinion.
Can you at least throw those of us who don't like the UI a bit of a bone and recognize what we're saying?
