Hi

Just thought I'd mention this, we used an old XP sp3 machine for NORMAL audio processing with ST.. I don't think its onboard soundcard supports 192khz even thought ST says otherwise in its current output samplerate (yes I know it can't be accurately detected)

I used a tugicom TX180s TX, tried both a car stereo and a normal indoor receiver.. both picked up stereo pilot but the stereo signal has a high freq squealing sound that can be mildly heard through the TX (when switched to mono). I also tried RDS but I doubt either receiver supports it. :(

The TX itself has a stereo coder so this could be partly the reason for the squealing, or it could be the dodgy onboard soundcard.. In either case it was just a test for curiosity since I have never used ST's transmitter feature.

What is the sound chip on motherboard?
Did you try "Calibrate FM Transmitter"? - Try "Calibrate the FM stereo pilot tone".

Its a Foxconn/Winfast 760GXK8MC with an ADI 1888 codec

If this chart is anything to go by: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/printpag ... -Table/520 <- this machine doesn't support 192khz

I haven't tried the fm calibration in ST, I think you need test equipment for that (?)

Well as you see it's only up to 96kHz so nothing to do with FM.

If it's just for home use, and you want stereo, here's a trick:
Go to the FM Transmitter window, then at the bottom right click on 'FM Transmitter Calibration". Enable it, and select 'Similar, but only using 23-38 kHz stereo signal'.

This gives a NON-STANDARD stereo signal, which might contain really big spikes (composite limiter won't work here) - but it should sound good if you don't push the volume too loud.

It was more out of curiosity and testing for later on.

But thats a cool "hack" (?) with the stereo system, are there any more tricks you know of? I'm interested to hear :)
