I must tell you that you are not right . If you want to have AGC you MUST have some pre amplifier . The only option is to amplify before regulate.. I must tell you that i saw in many transmitters ( inside ) a manual POSTamp .. builded in few fixed steps ( 0 db , -3 db, -6 db , -9 db ) So i don`t know how professional devices you are looking at , but...Pre and Post amps are just right putted on the ST.But Drive is amplifing all signal for me ( that is what i see for now) but i think that this Drive must amplify the signal only on the input of the MB and not allow this amplified signal to reach the Advanced clipper . Look when you set the drive to the max or a higher value.... the Adv clipper is goin crazy ?!?! This must not happen . Adv Clipper is far after the MB in the scheme for FM processing or normal processing. The idea of the MB must be to regulate the amplitude-frequency characteristic as necessary.That is why we have thres option in the MB. We can set it above 0db like you see . So the Drive and Output must operate just like the Preamp for AGC and postamp for the whole output... BUT ONLY FOR THE MB .
I agree on the amplification it's a must have, however it is called "AGC DRIVE" (in all big processors) and not "PRE AMP"
In other words, the name could be changed in the future (depending on Hans) in order to confirm to the big marked.
I am not saying it's gonna be changed but i know Hans has a goal, and i think if he wants to compete, parameters should have the same name.
I agree on the drive issue, the MB DRIVE should only effect the amount of gain reduction in the multiband structure and not the MB output level (i think) so it's worth to try to link the "DRIVE" parameter to the "OUTPUT" level, so when more drive is applied it automaticaly reduces output level.
@parelduikerfm
I will have a 6 bands Big O preset available soon, it's not finished but i'm getting there.
Will have it available via this forum, or as a NEW MULTIBAND user preset when it's finished.
