Pavel test - 2024-06-02.stsI have not tried tyour presets yet.

I am using the basic version of ST 10

Does your preset involve features that are not included in the BASIC (no addons) ?

Also, what you think of the sound https://onlineradiobox.com/us/bfm/?cs=us.bfm&played=1
so far? I took some preset that sounded to me ok in terms of Host voices + music. All seems quite balanced
But AGC does not whow activity at all. The input is to the top... drive +8 Do not know :(

thx

I attached my preset, so far all within my basic license (no red warnings). Perhaps you could suggest something. Many thanks in advance.
Hi. Regarding my V 2 presets they are using adaptive settings in mb,wb compressor & agc section used from st 10.21 an onwards and i assume thats why the agc is not working.
Imho the +8 drive in input is too agressive and it might cause distortion during processing.i would recommend 0 gain in st input and about 80% volume on source player and let agc do the rest.

I have listened to the stream you mentioned and it sounds loud and balanced, some audio artifacts though but i can't understand if there is something to do with proceeding or the music source material.

If you wish to listen my older presets there is a thread https://www.forums.stereotool.com/viewt ... 10&t=33695 for older st versions (v9.92 &10.10) I also have https://zeno.fm/radio/ianthos-radio/ stream where i test the latest (currently v2.5 beta in st 10.30)

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
I turned off STEREO and PHASE sections (especially phase) it was creating some weird something that made sound like a bad mp3. I don't know when you took a stab at my stream. I hope you listened BEFORE i made these adjustments. It does sound loud. I am sure bringing the level down is not what needs to be done as it is already -1 db. Must be done by compressors and other modules.

AGC is not moving probably because I did not crank it up somewhere... my version is 10.30 and AGC is at its default settings, but evidently I need to change them to make it pump. But that would make it even louder. I hear that it is quite balanced as is. but my ears do not hear objectively already. :)

AGC starts to show activity on the meters when I move target to -10 instead of +4 (default) and drive remained +8 now I see some movements :) Pavel test - 2024-06-02.sts here is what is now
As i see you use legacy 2 band AGC. If i lower the target level and increase the drive it starts to be more responsive but i thing its obsolete for 10.30
i would recommend to use the adaptive version.here is a screen of my settings in 10.30.Btw adaptive agc freq band is at 2000hz with 6db/oct slope. Of course you should also adapt all the next prosessing st levels (mb,wb,clippers,eq etc)

Hi. Just made a new one with 2 compressors and some tweaks
for tonal balance control. This one is more heavy in the processing
part. The output is at -6lufs and -0.3db tp. Keep in mind to have input
level around 80%
Always good to have your comments and feedback.
Hi
First time I've responded in ages and never to a preset. Most, even Bocha's, pump. (sorry, no offence meant). Even when ive made changes to limit it, or created my own, it can be heard.

This doesnt, only in very few specific songs, about 2 or 3%, and then not badly. (Your The Voice by John Farnham, for instance)
I'm not of the opinion that there's too much treble, the upper frequencies are IMO what helps give atmosphere and image, bass gives power and thrill. I play a massive variety of music, thousands of different songs of different genres and decades, everythings been manually rebalanced over twenty or more years but even with that, not many presets handle it but this does. Well done.
I've tweaked it a small amount to give a little better lower vocal power but it didnt need more than that.

Good stuff.

Bertie

Thanks for the feedback. I also use various genres to test my presets, mostly from some reference recordings. The challenge is that with old and modern mastering techniques you can't be always accurate of the sound tonal outcome.Of course anybody can use the scheduler api to set genre specific presets.

Hi.I 've just made a new update based on ST 10.30. I personally noticed many differences from previous versions
and had to change many settings. Here is a list of what changed in V2.5:

- Updated ACG drive and target values
- Updated EQ & Auto EQ settings
- Routing changes between stages (EQ,True bass,MB)
- Updated settings in clippers
- Updated MB & WB compressor settings

I hope you like it. Always good to have your feedback and comments.

Hi Duman,

Just a quick note to say I love the HD 2.5 Adaptive :) I am very new to Stereo Tool and I have tried many of the available settings over the past few weeks. HD 2.5 Adaptive is working the best for me. Great work. Thank you! Stu

I looks like i needed some time to work around ST V10.30 new features :

So Whats new in V.2.6
-EQ section has more responce and range in certain frequencies. Try to keep up with the original tone with just a boost to the right direction (I hope :))
-Compression section also reconfigured to add punch in low freq range and keep the whole spectrum balanced.
-Added 2nd band adaptive AGC.
- Reduced input pre and post amp gain
-Updated settings in new clipper and bass clipper
-Output loudness gain is now at -7>7,5lufs,also TP max is set to -1dB

I hope you like it.Always good to have you feedback and comments.

Some changes based on V.2.0.All settings tested on ST10.30 so the results may vary based on your ST version.
More responcive eq in low mids and vocal frequency section.
Dynamics adjusted to be transparent with a push of extra clarity.
Output section is set to -6LUFS average -0.2dB TP with bass and final limiter more responsive than previous versions.
The wideband compressor is off.The adaptive multiband compessor is more than enough to make the job done :D
Hint for all those using normalization and loudness control before ST. You can disable the AGC section and save some processing resources.

I hope you like it.Always good to have your feedback and comments.

Hi Duman. I really like this last preset. Listen to this radio. http://188.40.62.20:8070/listen.pls I've always thought how nice it would be to have a sound like this on the Stereo Tool. I think that this last preset of yours has a very similar sound to this radio.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I checked the stream link you post. Its a commercial radio in Banja Luka but don't know if they are using somekind hw or software processing. Yet the sound is balanced, consistent and not fatigue for long periods of listening. I have also a stream testing my presets here for direct comparison
https://stream-149.zeno.fm/1kqamv5nolqt ... SjbMdRwq5A
This one is a beta version of v2.8 to be released.

Yes, it's a station from my city. They have been around for 28 years. They have always had this kind of sound. I'm sure they're using some hardware. I listened to your stream. It sounds a lot more aggressive to me than your preset on my radio. I'm using the RadioBoss and VST version of the stereo tool. I'll post a link to my radio stream so you can hear how version 2.4.7 sounds on my radio. I mostly play rock, metal, punk, older pop and jazz. https://azura12.instainternet.com/liste ... /radio.mp3
