More code cleanup. And the default value for the 'allow more distortion' sliders is fixed.

These changes are helping to move in that direction. But more changes are needed before I can actually implement it.

What about my post versions ago ....
About Stand alone when check the "Bypass all" appears sound for a second that is pitched up - and then again disappears ...appear /disappear...
Maybe this causes the increased CPU usage without input signal.

First post, so ... Hi all! :D

I'm also experiencing this. When I activate "Bypass all" the sound on the FM transmitter output comes in short sped up bursts with silence in between.
It doesn't happen if I switch to using ASIO on the FM transmitter output.
The normal output is not affected. I'm on 6.22-025.

But that's not bug! That's from always! Both asio and no-asio.

Bug is presented in beta26 not in beta25 where on reset there is no output sound in standalone.

Yeah, this one kinda makes sense now - the output is sent in a higher sample rate but the code that should perform the upsampling is bypassed. I won't fix it right now then. The other issue (silence when pre-emphasis is disabled) is solved now. Will build a new beta now (also some other changes, I've changed the hole protection filter a bit so that the CPU load should be lower, the effect on the audio is very small).

Edit: Just found another -VERY- minor performance improvement (one calculation in the clipper was done 10 times but the result was only used the first 2 times, now it's not calculated after 2 times anymore).

Building now.

Yet more code cleanups :)
Slightly reduced CPU load for "S" holes protection
Slightly reduced clipper CPU load (probably not noticeable)
Problem with silence when pre-emphasis was disabled in stand alone version fixed.

Winamp/DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 22-027.exe
Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 22-027.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 22-027.dll
Command line: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 22-027.exe

Note: I just saw that turning off "HQ" doesn't have any effect on the performance. And the performance didn't improve as much as I had hoped :(

An observation since beta 26(VST), upon enabling 'Lossy Compression' pre-emphasis, a sudden discharge of audio samples (probably stored in buffer) happens.
