The file dsp_stereo_tool_installer_BETA841-050.exe still shows in Winamp as BETA049.
Oops! Sorry... the build wasn't finished yet (and I thought it was). Is this just a version mistake? ![]() There wa a PAUSE statement in my build script. I just started the remainder, it will automatically upload when done, but please note: Building takes multiple hours. |

Exactly, but it;s not good. What happens is that clipper clipp bass at, for example, 2dB then if i rise trhesh in limiter by 2dB, 2 bad things happens. First bass is back to 0dB and bass clipper instantly clip bass and then limiter is bit late to amplify it since it has some release.
It constantly goes of some amount into "Hard Limit" I thought it should just catch 'some' small peeks here and there. Another slider for limiter output level maybe?I'm very confused. There is no threshold so you can' change that. Or do you mean drive? But if you change that the bass clipping level doesn't move. I have no idea what you mean by "limiter is a bit late", and it never amplifies anything so I don't understand that either....... So.. it need it;s own bass clipper, or it should follow settings from bass clipper in ABDP. I vote for 1st since it can be standalone. It does use the settings from ABDP, including the settings that control distortion etc. Another thing, why it depends on "hard Limit"? about 0.8dB goes into hard limit after limiter. Cant measure because it kick well over 0dB after limiter without "Hard Limit" I can make it more strict if needed. But since hard limit is a limiter as well I figured it wouldn't make too much difference......? I am mainly talking about bass. I really don't see point of bass clipper if limiter again boost bass peek level again. |

But the small amount that Hard Limit does shouldn't cause problems (or do you hear it?) I am mainly talking about bass. I really don't see point of bass clipper if limiter again boost bass peek level again. I still don't know what you mean by that. The limiter doesn't boost bass peaks??? I just tested it to make sure but the limiter/clipper drive has NO effect at all on bass peaks as long as they exceed the bass clipper threshold. |

Not it's opposite. It boost bass peek level. Play some bass at 0dB on inout. Set bass clipper to max -4dB (always clip bass below) Then set clipper drive to +4 with limiter ON. Is Bass peek level higher then without limiter? |

No. I just tested that. My bass peak level does NOT exceed the setting in ABDP, regardless how hard I push it. But, how high is your bass? For higher bass frequencies ABDP will do less. I'm testing with a DC offset.

Ok here is picture.. Attachment: doublebass.jpg [ 75.7 KiB | Viewed 8702 times ] Blue is clipped bass from bass clipper, Nicely visible Red same bass boosted by limiter. Settings are -2dB max bass and clipper drive to +4 That red marked bass is gone if i just turn off limiter. |

That's not being boosted by the limiter. That's unclipped!!!

Ah so limiter is actually declipper. |

Well that's what your blue arrow seems to be pointing to.

I just tried it again with a 30 Hz tone. And I set "Dirty Bass" to 100% and Controlled Distortion to the maximum. Bass clipper at -4 dB. Everything else at default settings (but Advanced Clipper and 'Limit instead' enabled). When I increase the drive, the waveform becomes more flat, but the peak level does not move at all. So it behaves exactly as it should. Attachment: 12_vs_7.png [ 131.63 KiB | Viewed 9838 times ] |
