Are you sure that in BBP is some EQ after Final Limiter? I think not.
I was talking about MB only, but when it's about Limiter (Loudness) AND Clipper/Composite limiter there IS big difference too, between Omnia and ST and/or BBP and ST.

Maybe Hans could add an extra hidden option to STS.
Since he added this hidden frequency option I think everything is possible.
From my naive point of view it must be possible (and relative easy) to define the numbers of used bands for multiband inside STS.

Then Bojcha can use seven or less bands.
And I will use 256 bands.
(No, this was a joke, I think 128 bands would already be perfect for my perverted needs).
But seriously: a maximum of 32 (to beat Vorsis) should be enough !

Vorsis has 1 broadband AGC 5-6 bands for AGC/compress, and 31 band Final Limiter, Stereo Tool has (in Loudness), if i remember correctly, 1024 or 512 bands in 3 or 5 groups, something like that.

So, StereoTool actually has more bands in MB, than any other audio processor.

I've just checked to make sure and: You can turn the highest bands off by setting them at an insanely high frequency (say, 200 000 Hz or so).

So if you want 8 bands, set the last 2 at for example 200 000 and 210 000.


Final Limiter and Loudness use the latency / 2 number of bands - so 256, 512, 1024 or 2048. (Which reminds me: I had a possible improvement that I still needed to test there, which could give higher latencies the response speed of latency 512 combined with the clarity of the higher latency... --> Moving this to a TODO list... --> Edit: (5 minutes later) --> Ehm, building test version now...)

I never tryed so high.
I adjusted something like this:
Center frequency - Band -1=40
Center frequency - Band 0=90
Center frequency - Band 1=200
Center frequency - Band 2=800
Center frequency - Band 3=1900
Center frequency - Band 4=5300
Center frequency - Band 5=8000
Center frequency - Band 6=14000
Center frequency - Band 7=200000
Center frequency - Band 8=2100000
... and i notice EQ and clip for Band 8 (last), does not working. Etleast i confirmed my theory

Edit: EQ and clip actually works .. but every time i must reset ST or change Sample rate to set changes 8 or 10 bands.
Even when load 'normal' preset must be restarted, reseted or rate changed up and down... ..

Changing Center Frequencies in sts file DOES NOT change the center frequencies of the bands contrary to the initial opinion I had. It's like the values are hard coded.

Phoenix, i was thinking same erlier...
What you need to do is to set bands as you wish (try mine for example) Load in standalone and change Sample rate at input to any number and back again to working rate.

Phoenix: Could it be that you hit RESET or loaded another preset? I think the values displayed in the main window are not updated in that case - but the original values are restored!

I tested it this afternoon with version 6.10 and it worked as I expected.

Hans and Bojcha: I am getting the same results each time. Now I am really uncertain if it's just the Standalone version that works this way...
I can't monitor the output of Standalone as easily as I can using VST. So I've no clue how come it's working in your case....
