I "vote" against involving AI in StereoTool. Let`s keep it clean from such things.

I suggest you learn more about the types of AI agents that exist and what they're good for. Real-time translation to hundreds of languages isn't the same as stealing art or cheating on an exam.

Listen, i have translation for ST (MANUAL) back in the days, so let me know, what is it !! Don`t "teach me" what to learn.
There is NOTHING more good ,. than a MANUAL REAL INTELLECT translation. And i`m sure, that there are plenty of people(like me), that can translate WITHOUT any AI ****. Did you understand right? If not, not my problem.
These words in audio are more like "technical", so no AI can "realize", what Hans means by his options 100%. 100% only him or ..... i repeat, REAL INTELLECT!

Besides, more than 85% of the planet knows english, so......What AI, what ********?
Can you tell me, if no internet on the machine, how it will translate it? Most radio management machines are NOT connected to internet, due to security of "hacking"... so...
If the AI translation means "upload file" to bot and wait to translation and then put in folder - this is another thing, but still can be done by real persons, if it`s like that.

So the only option here is Translation.en, Translation.es, Translation.au, Translation.ro files.........., that ST to recognize in folder... and then they can be as drop down menu, that user can choose.
If it`s a "real time translation(with button press) through internet by AI", this is will be the most stupid decision in my opinion.

I wanted to reply and mention my opinion about this. I completely forgot to reply and saw this again now.

Since Hans is a programmer, he understands the problems that AI. I would assume he wouldn't do anything super bad. There's some languages that finding a person to translate is pretty difficult.

I do wanna request that maybe the translation files be available on GitHub and editable by the community in some way? That way, translation can be improved and documentation to items that are missing documentation could be added. I think Hans does not like making documentation. StereoTool is very lacking documentation. There are also items in the new UI that had documentation that has since been removed.

I do wanna mention again (I mentioned this last on Discord) that "Prioritize highs over other sounds by at most" scaling is broken and goes only by 1dB unless that's on purpose now. The default is 0.42dB which isn't easily possible anymore without manually typing it.

Especially a translator who doesn't only know the language but also the technical terms. Actually, AI seems to be pretty good at that - we don't just tell it to translate, but also that it's for Stereo Tool, and that it should keep technical terms that are normally not translated the same etc.

Aside from this, we often add things to the GUI and every time we add a single new setting, we would need to chase after potentially dozens of people to update their translations. And, we have no way at all to check if those translations are any good. (For some languages we can, but if there's a Thai or Chinese version, we definitely can't read it - and it's a bit scary to just put it in without having any idea what it says).

Oh, that change is on purpose! Higher values sounded bad. Originally the range was much bigger but it didn't make things better at all. I found out about that when I was redesigning the clipper and testing everything in the process last year.
