Well, there are some larger code redesigns to enable the creation of a Linux version... That's not visible, but the code really changed a lot. And indeed a lot of filter changes (although normally they would have led to a . number increase).
Anyway, 5.50 would not have been possible (it doesn't make any sense), it was either 5.10 or 6.00. To stress (also to people who may doubt whether they should download the new version) that they really should download the new version, I named this one 6.00...
I'm going to copy your post to the Stereo Tool 6.00 thread - changing the latency behavior (meaning: also saving it in STS files) seems a valid and logical thing to do - in version 6.01.
