hi I need help this with pain in the ass problem....i have ASIOALL installed on my computer and i am trying to use it on stereo tool .

when i enabled it stereo tool just lockes up and I have to forcefully close it down.

is there something i am missing here or something??? settings maybe?

system with problem windows 7 64bit. ( no luck )

i do have stereo tool and asio working on another computer but that is running windows xp 32.

hope you can help with this as i would like to use asio because it helps with the latency's when watching tv or you tube.

dont know if will be better to get on skype and start a video call and share screen so i can show you what happens,

still don't know what to make of it ....im not to sure if its working or not but the lime greenbar goes down and like you sead ( hans ) its suppose to stay full.

it never fills up --- it just goes down resets down resets down.....but the sound never breaks. its odd. :?:

something like that ^^^^^^^^^^^

one more thing im starting to think that it might have nothing to do it win 7 ...as when i booted up in to xp it did the same thing...
BUT on my older laptop it works fine ( xp )....so it might be a hardware problem. I just do not know.

pitty to cos when you have it working there is allmost no delay and it makes watching TV much better..

( if you did not know yet....i have a 19" tv linked to an old laptop running stereo tool...and that outputs the sound to a valve amp ( makes a huge difference in sound ) ..that one is using asio with no problem )

dont know what else to say.

You can use ffdshow video delay option to compensate:

Besides your very special TV to laptop connection (not possible to delay the video, so ASIO is the only option), you do not need ASIO !
Latency (or a low ASIO latency) is only important for realtime human to machine interaction (recording and monitoring).
TV (and other videos) on your PC is playback.
 adjust the video delay !

I know you use Stereo Tool Standalone version.
I use the DSP version instead hosted with an unregistered (but never expiring) trial version of Breakaway Live 0.90.96b  bypassed all the time (but all hosted winamp or wrapped VST plugins can be used without any limitations).
In bypassed mode the trial mode message/interruption every half hour is disabled since version 0.90.95 !
I have no sync problems watching DVB TV (standard and HD).

well im still going to continue to use steretool no matter what. as I am in love with it and, and I use it every day ( no joking )

i know hans sead something about windows having a 300ms buffer delay time. and that's my problem but the only way I can get around it is to use asio. but once it is working its perfect.

Yes it is the only way for you, because it is your religion and you don't want to understand when ASIO is needed (your TV old laptop connection or recording) and when not (PC playback: TV broadcasts, videos, etc.).

Where have I suggested you to not use Stereo Tool ?

Yes, but there are other ways to Rome (without ASIO) to keep video and audio in sync ( using a video delay).

(Where have I suggested you to not use Stereo Tool ?....)

:?: you have not sead that, I was just saying it will not put me off using it that's all.

but I have to learn all of this stuff you are talking about as I am not in to all the completed stuff.. :|

as in ( I use the DSP version instead hosted with...Breakaway (bypassed !) ??? whats Breakaway (bypassed ??

another thing I'm not to sure about the religion thing.

and yes there are some things I do not understand. ( its what you get for having a learning disability like i have )

(Yes it is the only way for you, because it is your religion and you don't want to understand when ASIO is needed (your TV old laptop connection or recording) and when not (PC playback: TV broadcasts, videos, etc.).

but thank you anyway. ;)

Breakaway Live is some kind of an expensive (in comparison to Stereo Tool) commercial audio processing alternative.
$129.00 !
But you can use it for free (unregistered) as long as you want (it will never expire).
The only limitation in trial mode (unregistered) is that approx. every half hour a commercial audio break (more or less 15 seconds advertising) is played.
But since version 0.90.95 this commercial audio break is not played as long as the processing is bypassed !
You can load (host) Stereo Tool or any other Winamp DSP as plugin with Breakaway Live and use it without any limitation, because the bypass button of Breakaway Live only bypasses the internal processing (and the commercial audio break since version 0.90.95) !

Here this the download link for the latest beta version:

@ Hans

I hope I have not done something wrong and will be banned here ?
My intention was to show an alternative way to use Stereo Tool for all audio on your PC !

More people should know about this, it makes setting up the standalone version sooo much easier!

Standalone :?:
You can host (load) the Stereo Tool DSP version, not the standalone (though this way you can use the DSP version similar to the standalone version by using Breakaway Live's soundcard live input options) !
Besides the advantage to use Stereo Tool as a global processing for all audio on your PC, this has the extra benefit to use additional DSPs (or even VST, DX plugins using a wrapper) pre and/or post Stereo Tool for analysis or processing.

VB FFX-4 is a free 4-slot DX plugin chainer (with solo function and single/global bypass buttons).
It comes as DX, VST and as Winamp DSP plugin (but only DX plugins can be chained inside):
http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/us ... dxrack.htm

The Acon Effect Chainer comes as a free DX and VST plugin and can chain both (DX and VST plugins - even mixed in one chain and as many as you want !):
http://www.kvraudio.com/db/effectchaine ... ital_media
http://www.acondigital.com/us_Downloads.html

The free Winamp VST Host (aka Winamp VST Bridge) is a DSP plugin to load (host) a VST plugin:
http://www.savioursofsoul.de/Christian/programs/winamp/
I still prefer its v1.0, because this is the only one that pops up automatically when you start Winamp or Breakaway Live.
Higher versions are only visible when you use the specific configuration call in Winamp or Breakaway Live !

My favourite set up is to load VB FFX-4 DSP version with Breakaway Live and then load with FFX-4 the Acon Effect Chainer to host any VST or DX plugin I want.

Here you find some very usefull free analysis and processing tools (EasQ !):
http://www.rs-met.com/freebies.html

And now (especially with the latest Stereo Tool betas and the new .sts frequency options for multiband) everybody has the chance to use an unbelievable high quality audio processing almost for free.
But IMO tools are only 30 %.
70 % is based on experience and taste and the individual knowlegde to use all these new options to reach highest quality (and to tweak other users presets for your own needs).
