This is so opposite.. Phase linear should be better quality..
Maybe, but I know that this Winamp plugin that was posted here earlier was also adviced to be used in BPP. And that plugin basically does the same thing as the non-phase-linear highpass filter.

Hans, you remember bass-beat i send you few months ago, where cliper from multiband caused some pre-artifacts.
I tried your file with your preset, and I don't hear anything bad???

Ther is something like pre-hum just before bass kicks in, like wind.

Geez. How hard can it be? All I need is a simple calculation that tells me how much a waveform looks like this:
Image

eg. it contains big short spikes in one or both directions. Because these are the type of sounds that are most susceptible to voice vibrations - so the more a waveform looks like this, the more I need to lower the bass level.

BUT ALL MY CALCULATIONS FAIL

I had something working in version 4.22, but that was more of a yes/no thing, and I need a sliding value.

Edit: Previous waveform is now correctly recognized, but this one is more difficult and still fails:

I think the solution is to create a 'think spike with not much surrounding it' filter.

Edit: I might have a new idea, will test it tomorrow...

If I'm hearing the same thing that you're hearing, that sound is already (yet much softer) present in the original recording!

I think that this will be difficult to make like this.

There is something but i can't determine from where. part from multiband and part from loudness, i think. Never mind.

dear hvz.
can you fix the crash bug with empty buffers on stereotool standalone on the next version ?

please tell me becuse i am desperate.

probably it's the drivers of realtek for windows 7 buggy, but there is no excuse for a program to crash completely like stereotool standalone!!

Camclone...
I can tell you how can you temporarily fix that!

- Install VAC
- Start Audio Repeater
- For input set Your source and for output set VAC1 and start it
- For ST input Set VAC1
- In VAC Control panel there is control "Clock Corr." .. You must play with it 101% or 99.5% to make stereotool buffer to not go under.
If it overflows, ST it will restart. buffer.
Yes there is problem in ST when buffer is UnderFlow, and this is not problem with drivers or OS, it; problem in Audio chip wich is not exactly 192000Hz but something like 192004Hz or 191993Hz!

Thanks for everything!
BUT , i cannot play anymore with my radiostation with tricks like these.
i have bought ESI Julia ...buggy drivers.
I have used realtek onboard ...buggy drivers!

Breakaway was making an auto restart every 6 or 7 days ( in 3 seconds!!)
Stereotool doesn't ,...and crashes with my realtek and julia drivers :(((

I hope next version of stereotool has something for me! :)

Ah, ok, so this probably isn't really a Stereo Tool bug but a driver bug??? Then I won't start looking for the cause but I'll just add a restart thing.

YES it is becuse of another buggy version of realtek drivers. ( for win7 )

Dear hvz , if you wanna have less complains from people who have crashes you MUST make this 20, 30 kb ?!!? auto full restart system of stereotool becuse many many users have buggy soundcard drivers.
PLEASE make this simple system in the next version of Stereotool becuse my radio every 6 or 7 days ...shuts down :(
make stereotool automaticaly restarts even if someone goes to task manager and tries to terminate it
( breakaway has that feature, if you are running breakaway and go to task manager and try to terminate it it automaticaly REALOADS !! this is the best method !)
