2. Picture with loudest 'S' sound, (any highs same). This is even with Composite limiter at 105%. so boosted bit...
It's around 90% .. insted to be around 97-98 (can't know that now) .. it's going into volume drop.
Seems "HARD LIMIT" is doing part of this too.

Ok, there seems to be something wrong.

With 44.1 kHz input and output, I get a very very constant output level. Good.

With 176.4 kHz input and output, I don't!!!

First guess: It must be the upsampling at the end. But at the very least there is something really wrong here. Which probably also explains why the highs are lower (as Bojcha reported) - they seem to drop by upto 1.8 dB!

If I manage to fix this it will give a BIG quality boost! (or, more accurately, a highs boost without quality loss, which means that the highs can be lowered, which in turn gives a quality boost).

Edit: Looks like it's indeed the upsampling.
Edit #2: But it also looks like the upsampling should be ok in 'Direct Sound Card Access' mode. This is getting confusing :o
Edit #3: No it was always wrong! Seems fixed now... :D
Edit #4: Building update now :-)

Actually 1.8dB 8-)
And not only that! Before that unnecessarily boosted (by multiband or other step in chain) to compensate for that loss.
:P

Watch BBP mpx (same 'S' sound)

Better, but now artifacts in mpx even with Composite limiter at 101-102%!

I found that I could not reproduce the 58kHz artifact until I changed my input sampling rate to 192 kHz which I believe Bojcha is using. I do not see the artifact at lower input sampling rates than 192kHz.

now in this beta there is no artifact at 58kHz...

What kind of artifacts? I'm not seeing anything strange here, even at 105%.

Edit: By 'safe', do you mean that no volume drops occur?

Here it is ... Composite limiter at 105% (192 or 176.4kHz)
