Can i get that recording 'This sound is processed by Stereo Tool' in some audio format ?
Open one of the older Stereo Tool versions (DLL or EXE) in an audio player, format 8 bit mono (unsigned). Then you'll find the recording among the rest of the data...
LOL is that a vuvuzela sound after the waveform? if you play the the whole exe it sounds like it would make awesome electronic music at certain parts

Luke: I have found some other options that make the file smaller again - maybe small enough :-)

But I'll first have to test if these options don't affect the performance. More tomorrow...
Now I must go and buy that last flopy box in Mediamarkt!

I've changed the optimization settings.
Previously, EVERYTHING was optimized for speed.
Now, things that happen only occasionally (mainly initialization and moving sliders) are optimized for size. The rest is still optimized for speed.

The difference in speed should not be noticeable - and even if it is slightly slower, that should be compensated by the smaller file size which reduces the load time and the amount of memory needed (only by about 100 kB, but still).

The stand alone version now fits on a floppy again :-) (708 kB), DSP version is a bit too big (741 kB).

IMPORTANT: I still need to check if the processing performance is not affected by these changes. Theoretically it should be identical, but I'll test it tomorrow to be sure.

Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... A502-8.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... A502-8.dll
VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... A502-8.dll
Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... A502-8.exe

I played a bit more with some settings, and this new version is now 2% faster (and 1 kB bigger).

What do you mean? Nothing changed since version 5.01... This new version is only smaller and slightly more efficient; the sound is identical.

Something was wrong with the BETA502-9 Winamp DSP plugin installer on Vista. Fixed now.

Previously the installers could give a warning in Vista that the installation may have failed - that should be gone now.

I just discovered that I was ALSO supporting Pentium 4 in the Pentium 3 version of Stereo Tool for the DSP version, and pre-Pentium 3 for the stand alone Pentium 3 version. Both took a lot of extra disk space. So I've removed the support now (should also give a very small performance boost to the Pentium 3 version).

Result sizes:
- DSP installer: 710 kB (!!!) - YES! Fits on a single sided floppy again!
- Stand Alone installer: 656 kB

Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... A502-A.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... A502-A.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... A502-A.dll
VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... A502-A.dll
Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... A502-A.exe

No further changes.

@ Hans

Good luck for Sunday !
I hope this final won't become another (s)pain in the ass.
It would be good for this generation of footballers to win something, that Cruyff did not win.
