FM is OFF as should .. and i agree 48 and 192 must be indentical audo (in this case) but it's not, long time ago.
(If you read what I just posted here, please forget it - it was wrong...)

Normal output & volume bars seem to be ok again, I'm building an update now.

Uploaded (BETA3 again).

Note: The non-SSE2 version (installed on Pentium 3 and older PC's) is now completely broken. Eventually it should get a similar performance boost as the non-SSE2 version, but it's now half-way, full of memory errors and the output sounds really weird.

Edit: Just re-uploaded it, non-SSE2 is working a bit better now (IF it doesn't crash, the output seems to be correct...... :? )

ye, normal output is ok.

I tryed switch again from 192kHz to 48kHz input (standalone fro streaming), and now seems same
I play with that months ago and leave it at 192 because it was much better. Now seems it is same as 48kHz.

Non-SSE2 (Pentium 3) version seems to be ok now. I have not yet been able to test it on an actual Pentium 3 (so it might crash if I'm calling some SSE2 instructions), but at least it gives the correct results now on my pc (it hadn't done that for a while now). The non-SSE2 version now has a similar performance boost as the SSE2 version.

Uploaded as BETA3 again, NO changes to the normal (SSE2 enabled) version.

Have you tried lowering the quality? Or turning some filters off?

If that doesn't help: Which OS does your netbook have, and how high is the CPU load? Does it have a single core, or multiple cores?

Small sound quality improvement coming up.

I have replaced the pre-ringing filter (that removes the annoying sounds that were present in earlier versions of Stereo Tool especially before loud bass kicks).

The pre-ringing filter in the previous BETA's only checked if there was silence in the input and not in the output, and then removed all the sound. That worked pretty well, it really removed annoying tones before bass kicks if there was silence.

The new filter is analyzing WHICH frequencies were present in the original signal, and removes anything that shouldn't be there. So it also works if there's no silence in the input, and it doesn't just remove pre-kick sounds but everything that shouldn't be there.

The difference in sound is be pretty small, but it works slightly better. CPU load is about 0.5% higher, so that's not a reason to keep using the previous filter.

New version available as BETA3:
Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... _BETA3.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... _BETA3.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... _BETA3.dll

Changes:
- Fixed "FM Calibration" memory issues (could cause crashes or strange behavior)
- Replaced pre-ringing filter by (all-)ringing filter.

The TODO list has finally started to shrink rapidly in the last few days. :D

Question to Bojcha:
- Fix Stereo Boost meter (stops after few/many minutes/hours of work)
Is this problem still there? (So, have you noticed it recently?) So far I haven't seen it here, if it's still happening I'm going to look into the code, but since there were several memory issues in previous versions that might also have been the cause.
