Does not look logical that fillter is still in action at level 0.00
I still think it should be after AGC.

Any chance to have 2 decimal number for Multiband "limiter speed" ?
1 Is it? That would be a bug.
2. Since it changes the audio level to me it makes more sense to put it before!
3 Sorry forgot about that one.

Hans,

Looks to me Bass in your face should indeed be after AGC, in this way your BASS level is almost constant (when using a separate BASS AGC) thus canceling the artifacts some people mention.

This means you should use a minimum of 2 band AGC (one for bass, and the other for low/mid/high)
Acualy, this is ecactly the same as in the ORBAN boxes...

O, I didn't realize that one. Yes, BIYF makes bass very constant... so this might make sense.

It's woth the try isn't it ? :D

Did you tested the Bass enhancement in DIFF mode ? (L-R)

Not yet.

This is actually not related to that BUT it might still be going in the right direction. At least it sounds much fuller to me.

To me that bass sounds like bell. But not at sub. (57Hz)

And really it should be after AGC. Those "thunders" really knows to kick AGC down, especially singleband. Try some rap or r'n'b or deep house music, for example.

I'm moving it to after the multibands now, in fact. Because the rumble that it sometimes causes will be increased a lot by MB. And bass should be more-or-less constant after MB anyway. So far, this sounds good.

BETA774-018

Windows 32 bit:
Windows stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 74-018.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 74-018.exe
Windows VST 32 bit: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 74-018.dll

Raspberry Pi 2:
http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA774-008 (008!)

CHANGES:
- Moved Bass In Your Face to after Multibands.
- Made Bass In Your Face slope to the right configurable.
- Added 2nd Bass In Your Face band, you can now boost both mid-bass and deep bass

- Fix Thimeo engine: Winamp version crashed if input is 192 kHz

OLD CHANGES:
- Fix Thimeo engine busy - some bugs left to fix. Winamp version also asserts in multiple places a while (FIXED). Winamp version is ok except at start - when starting in Thimeo mode it can hang (low latencies) or sound bad (higher latencies) (FIXED). At least one cause is that waiting for readReachesWriteEvent times out (FIXED).
- Reduced bass rumbling in Bass In Your Face, made frequency configurable.
Added initial version of Bass In Your Face
- Half-way busy with improving the Dequantizer - Done
- DFT pre-allocate memory!
- Fix Thimeo engine busy - some bugs left to fix - still more issues to be fixed. OS_WAITEVENT(hq_continue) might be placed incorrectly (not same for chain and chain_hq) or might not be needed at all. OS_WAITEVENT(hqThreadDescription[number].process_ready_event) to be checked. Why does the CPU meter stay close to 100%? That must be a bug. Move Performance meters to see where this happens. Audio is ok though in both plug-in and stand alone. Still broken but at least kinda usable now. Problems: Optimized code doesn't run (stereo_tool.cpp, warning). Sometimes shift in timing. Hangup when switching to different latency, then switching from Thimeo to old framework. EXACT PROBLEMS: Hangup when switching Thimeo OFF in Latency 256. Sometimes hangups when switching at latencies 2048 and 4096. Sometimes jump-in-time at sound card restart after switching between Thimeo on/off (potentially only after changing size first?). Problem seems to be fixed now (at least on 1 latency setting) except for 1-second WAIT loop sometimes (FIXED), and optimized code isn't used (FIXED). Winamp version also asserts after a while. All versions hang on too high CPU load hangs (FIXED).
- ACR Stereo weird effect at latency 128, test track 'Drank & Drugs". - Was highpass filter, removed (for now!)
- Auto-reduce GUI speed when CPU load is too high.
- Enter license key: Add a 'Get from clipboard' button
- "Auto" synchronization mode - Stereo Tool attempts to detect if synchronization is needed by comparing sound card names. Might cause problems...
- Added Raspberry Pi 2 version (requires jackd2, uses NEON support so only works on Pi 2).
- New feature: Spectral Balance Compensation
- Bug: Winamp plug-in crash: set 'plug-in host latency' to a high value FIXED, was a threading/timing issue
- Bug: Console version: Error: -k: Key <xyxyxyxyxyxyxyxyx> is invalid. FIXED but I don't understand why!
- Bug: GUI: If I set the quality slider to 50 or lower with Ignore High Frequencies set lower that 19kHz the FM output meter goes blank FIXED (I hope)
- Bug: Plus a new one...If I set the stokemask use area slider to zero multiple parts of the processing chain throw exceptions. --> I don't see this one but value 0 makes no sense anyway, I've changed the slider so it cannot go below 50% anymore.
- Bug: FM doesn't get turned off anymore when selecting a non-FM preset, this means that pre-emphasis stays enabled among others.
- Password login shows what you type - should show ******
- Bug: UECP PS/RT texts are sent through the Stereo Tool RDS parser, shouldn't be. -> Probably fixed, but I cannot test it (no UECP encoder here).
- Stokkemask Strictness was set to 2 by default, must be 3.
- Bug: 64 bit stand alone Windows crash, exception 0xc0000005, address 0x000000000000339b (WINMMBASE.dll) - might be a Windows 10 or driver problem! (see below, might be a Windows 10 bug or a driver issue) -> Confirmed, it cleaned up after some Windows updates.

TO BE DONE:
- Bass In Your Face: Filter out pre-ringing.
- Bass In Your Face: Reduce CPU load, move allocations to .h file.
- Bass In Your Face: Maybe rename to Warm Bass?
- Bass In Your Face: Determine GUI mode for each setting.
- Thimeo framework: Check why normal framework now asserts on startup/latency change.
- Fix version with Thimeo engine latency in Winamp (50% higher on normal mode, 75 in Thimeo mode - before replacing readReached event by a switch it was 50% and 50%, I should be able to restore that - caused by looking at the wrong [][] values). Also, the Chain() thread should wait for the calculations to finish.
- Show warning when sample rate is too low for stereo/rds
- Set separate clipping level for normal output.
- Dequantizer: Make the effect configurable for the lib build. And make it more configurable (final filter vs. first filter).
- Server: Protect against memory reallocation fails when zooming out of waveform display (one of the few places where I allocate memory after starting).
- Add AF method B via UECP!
- Make it possible to output lower FM output level in plugin when outputting L/R deemphasized.
- Check Delayed Bass Clipping: Relative sensitivity. Doesn't work according to Bojcha.
- Bug: Hans I think that you forgot the unrecoverable NAN error when adjusting the ND frequancies. I got exactly the same behavior in both of the multibands.
- Bug: Stereo Tool together with JACK Audio, for whatever reason as soon as I activate ASIO in 7.7x, it just quits out and doesnt open up anymore. Note that this even happens when the JACK server isnt even started up. Oh and I use the 64bit version because the 32bit version cant connect to JACK at all, it just says it failed, in the 64bit version at least it used to work fine. (I'm guessing that this is a Jack bug though - will test it here).
- Add a big warning when sound card buffers get too full or too empty about enabling Synchronization.

LATER:
- Bug: Mac: After closing About box, main GUI remains unusable. And it's too small. Suggested fix: Disable for now, make a better About box later. Should be part of the planned Mac native GUI design.
- Bug: Mac: If you click the Help Button it will close Reaper. Not sure if this is supposed to happen. Also the Help-URL is not existing. Also part of the planned Mac native GUI design.

New Bass in your face have bass ringing too. DIFF mode shows this.
And the most important - CPU load increases by nearly 13% only for it. From 10.7 to 23 . Not optimized ?

There is some effect that's currently only present in DIFF mode - I'll fix that.

Big CPU load effect confirmed - I'll have to check what's going on, it's not doing that much...
