Best declipping ONLY preset that does not adjust level at all, and applies literally no other processing to the audio. I'm using this on the output of the automation system.

I've got one I built, but I have never tweaked declipper before, so it's pretty much stock settings except that MP3 Input is disabled.

NOTE: I do NOT want ND turned on.

I'm now using a very slightly modified version of what you gave me. I noticed you had Quality/Precision (on the CPU Usage tab, under the Restoration tab) set to 3.0, whereas I'd been using 2.5. I went even further. I can afford to run about 3.8 and keep the CPU where I'm comfortable.

Hans, can you elaborate on that setting? Is there a number beyond which no practical improvement will exist? What exactly does it do, other than jack CPU usage up?

Wes

All sliders in that sections are for precission and quality.
When i want max quality i set all to max except "step size" wich is ok at 98%.

Also.. it's not only declipper what you want to use. You need to use clipper and hard limit to avoid large peeks to go over 0.
Also input need to be at least -6dB (i use -12) to make room for re-created peeks. Also depends for what further will you use final results.

OK. I kicked step size up 4 percent to 94. I'm at 3.9 on the Quality Slider. It's getting the CPU up there, though, so I'll have to monitor the system for a while and see if I can stay that high.

Which parameter is more important to quality? Step-size or Quality?
