Hans, I hope you can improve the optimized version of phase shaping further.. Un uptomized version is better but the cpu can barely handle it.
They should be identical - aren't they??? Then please send me your settings for testing!

SLow fir --> richer and fuller
I've subtracted the normal and slow FIR audio output in a wave editor (which leaves the difference between the two) and compared that with the original audio, and the audio level of the difference is 60-80 dB below the actual audio level. And that's after all the other processing steps went over it (which increase any differences). Without those steps I'm measuring a difference at 65-90 dB below the actual audio level.

The difference itself isn't even audible (on headphones) if I don't increase the level, and when I do what I here is only some sort of crackling sound.

If you really get a different output, could you make a recording of both situations? Just in case I'm doing something wrong here. O and just to make sure: You are testing with version 022(A) or 023 right? Older versions had a bug in the non-FIR version.

Hi to all. An idea that came to my mind is that when ST is in password protected the meters will expand and cover all the st window and the log in button will appear in one of the corners so we don't waste most of the screen .

Thank you very much

(disclaimer that is just an idea that came into my mind)

I can't help me, but for me Method 4 sounds best.

It gives two nice effects:
-When working with slower AGC Attack times, the effect of crescendos is nicer, cause in this case the re-equalisation is bigger (cause of the higher Level going into MB- section).
-Weh a single loud sound occurs, it sounds more natural if the adjactent bands are pulled not so deeply into gain reduction.

That´s my opinion, I find it the best, but as we know, all this is very subjective...

Regards,
Robert

1 sounds much fuller and has more bass than 2. But also weird artifacts, mainly in 1. So this is BETA023? Stand alone or DSP? Or 022A VST? And 1 is Slow FIR? Also, in a spectrum recording 2 has less bass - but this filter should not affect bass at all.

I've tried subtracting the two and I hear a quite band 'bumping' sound in the bass, are you using a lower quality setting? Your results are completely different from mine (and I've tested with your preset), so there must be something in your settings that I'm missing.

Could you run the following audio through it and record the result? (And please indicate which is which)

I would also be interested in a recording of this with ONLY the Phase Equalizer enabled, everything else off. (Actually, if they are different that would suffice).

Edit: Just tested the VST version, also no real difference.

It`s getting more and more complicated. You spend so much time on this and the only result will be more complicated MB (this may cause more mistakes also).
I prefer to have more flexible limiter instead of 4 or 5 methods of linking the bands.

WOW, sound is so subjective.
Used last beta standalone, quality slider is not at full otherwise I couldn't record. (but used same quality settings for both recordings)

1 is optimized phase
2 is slow FIR

For me 2 sounds better

More options for the MB limiter would indeed be helpful. Control over attack, release, hold, etc, would all be nice. The coupling is very helpful, though.

I mean the Limit option in MB . It`s from -12 to +36 !!!! Why not it be just the opposite - from -36 to +12 ? What we will do at +36 db ?

See? That slider can go up to +36 db ? And ONLY to -12 ?! Do you see any reason to go so so so high ?
