Yes , thank you
But i`m telling you that time is running normal . The CPU is far away from the 100% and still time is running as real time.. nevermind what preset i set . Even with mine that is very simple one ...

I`m talking about for the time of the song showed in winamp . I guess that time must scroll faster with that type of processing , right ?

Also i`m having normal ouput from the ST and can listen to it again normally from the FM output... I just don`t get it .

I ran tests as suggested, track length 5:53, format WAV 44.1kHz.

CPU used was Intel i5-660. OS Win7 x64.

Preset Thorium6 (soft)

Oldest ran 1:22, Old with new 1:21, and latest 1:20. So every steps decreases processing time roughly by 1 second.

It seems it really works better on newer CPUs and on older usually slightly worse. Also there is diff between AMD and Intel.

I could run ST FINE restart the system and have problems and then restart again and it was fine strange..... But it is an old install of windows 7. I am getting ready for moving out of 7 and run a clean install of 8.1 on a ssd and do more testing of corse)
You might want to try the next version - I haven't enabled the CPU affinity settings yet (I have a test version here myself where it works) - could very well be that affinity was set differently which might cause differences in behavior. If you set the affinity yourself it should be always the same.

Yup. It works better on newer Intels and on all AMD's apparently. And slightly less good on older Intels. Unfortunately there are quite a lot of those...

I'll browse through the compiler settings again to see if I missed anything. At this point an improvement of just a few percent would suffice to ditch the old compiler.

Hi Hans,
Quote:
Wooh! If I enable all the new optimizations for i3/5/7 processors, I can run a complete FM preset including composite clipper and even Stokkemask with a CPU load of 10%! (CPU: i7-4770S). Without Stokkemask 7%! Streaming preset 2%.
For those of use who use Intel i7 4770K or 4790K systems this type of CPU load figure is excellent news.

Is there a chance there could be a build for those CPUs to allow a machine to run an FM and a Stream version at the same time and still keep the machine just happily working away under so little load?

C.
