Announced today - Winamp 5.66 will be the last ever version of Winamp.

Not available for download either past the end of Decemeber, so yet it while it's hot!

What sad news - curious what this means for Stereotool as well - will you support a new Media Player?

Ow. That's not good... Not so much because Winamp is so great (there are many players that have similar or better features which also support Winamp plugins), but I do know that a lot of traffic is coming in (or at least it used to a few years ago - I'm not sure if it's still the case) from the DSP site from Winamp, which I read will also close. Many other players link to the Winamp site when people want to download DSP plugins. So I hope someone will create a new directory of DSP plugins.

Edit: Hm. I just checked. 288.791 downloads of Stereo Tool reported there since 2008... I do wonder though if the number is still being updated (under 'New uploads' the declipper is still the 2nd, it has been there for over a year and only had 21.110 downloads which - for a plugin that has been on the first page for this long - does not make much sense). But there's another plugin that's apparently uploaded a month ago, with 7000 downloads.

If these numbers are correct I can only guess that the site was nearly dead already - when I first uploaded the (at the time pretty horrible) Stereo Tool 1.0 there (wow...) I had 5000 downloads within a week and 90.000 after a few months.

Yea it was the Winamp forums that helped me discover Stereotool!

The Winamp site still refers to Stereo Tool 7.23, in the last 100 hits on my site I see that version mentioned twice... So I'm guessing (and hoping) that most traffic comes from elsewhere.

Ok, I know i will use winamp who knows how long... but what are replacements? At once (from skype talk) 3 peoples recomended AIMP. I download it and first thing i played is 192kHz mono flac file wich played only on left channel. Also asio does not work for some reason etc.. So, uninstall.
