004 Windows version modulates stronger in the positive direction by roughly 4% than in the negative direction on US FM. That is probably where the need to reduce the output level came into play. This is with a Marian Trace Alpha sound card as measured by an Inovonics 530 commercial quality FM modulation monitor.
Very strange.... Do you also see that in the Stereo Tool output window? And what happens if you turn ND off?

Not sure how to see the positive and negative modulation in the output window. Turning ND off and on has no effect. Could it be a side effect of when the AM asymmetrical modulation capability was added?

It could be but then it should also be wrong in version 7.24. And I don't see it here - did you enable those settings? If you enable AM asymmetric clipping it will also affect FM output.

Could you make a screenshot of the output waveform display for loud audio (where it clips on both sides), it should be easy to see if the distance on the top and on the bottom are 4% different.

Anyone who can test this? Stand alone version, Jack based (so you need to install and run Jack!), for Mac OS (Lion):
http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA725-004

Note: I am running this in a VMware environment, and Jack won't run in it. So I have no way of testing this version. It does start up without Jack, the GUI is visible, and fake-audio passes through. But that's as far as I can try.

Edit: I just noticed: You need to chmod the file to 755 after downloading before you can start it!

I enable them just to observe the result (I could only get about 10% extra positive modulation, far the less than the 200% I set it for)) but then disabled it. If the positives and negatives are the dark area above and below the display, it looks like there is slightly more dark area above the display than below.

Could someone please explain the settings for "Natural Dynamics" a little closer? What effect have the new parameters? When I use the default settings, a difference is already noticeable. It would be very good if someone could make it short. At the other recent changes, the new parameters explained mostly by itself.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Great you are busy with a Mac version. I have OSX Lion (10.7) here and tried to start Stereo Tool. Have chmod the file to 755. Installed Jack for OSX.
A library needs something regarding this console information:

/Users/Edgar/Desktop/stereo_tool_SAlin_mac_BETA725-004
dyld: Symbol not found: __ZTIN10__cxxabiv115__forced_unwindE
Referenced from: /Users/Edgar/Desktop/stereo_tool_SAlin_mac_BETA725-004
Expected in: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib
in /Users/Edgar/Desktop/stereo_tool_SAlin_mac_BETA725-004
Trace/BPT trap: 5

New attempt, this time I tried to build a version that works on OS X 10.5 and higher:
http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA725-004

(What makes things a bit difficult is that I'm compiling with the latest gcc version which should optimize better; the default version that is supported by OS X is a few years old.)

I've just removed this newer compiler and this latest version still works (the previous one fails with the same error that Edgar reported). So it seems to be ok now.

Bingo! This one starts! The computer fan starts to work also. There is no possibility to quit Stereo Tool, except of ctrl-c in terminal.
The disadvantage is that just made configuration will not be saved. I know, it will help to save the preset. After saving of a preset and restart of ST I need to import the saved preset to get my settings work.

About Jack: maybe I forget something. I start JackPilot and it said: "Cannot start Jack server, Please check the console or retry after a system reboot."
A reboot doesn't help with this.

Not tested any audio yet.

Hm, I had that same issue with Jack in VMware - thought it was caused by VMware (because I also had problems with it in Linux). :(
