Hi,

I am not shure about it, but i tried finding some plugins to decompress a highly compressed signal. no, i am not talking from some special compressed music, i am talking from this annoying compression in the music nowadays. i found some interesting plugins from flux. the idea is really good, but the automatic mode doesnt seem to work as i want. the manual settings are not so good i find. here is the homepage of the plugin:

http://www.fluxhome.com/products/plug_ins/alchemist

i only tryed the free trial version. on some songs it works very well, on others not. i am not shure why. the problem is, that the signal is very fast pumping and gets bursted.

Question to hans: Do you think, that it will be possible to include a (better) plugin, which can decompress via multiband a signal? i am not speaking from a expander, it isn't the same. i think you also call it Upward Compression. i am not shure. Your Declipper is the best i know, so i think, that you got for this problem also a very nice resolution ;-)

Yes I've tried the last beta version. I think the idea is good in principle, but I can not set all the parameters, because I do not see many of them unfortunately ...

If the options would be better described, and what they stand for, then a proper comparison would be possible. That would be really good. But I prefer to write this in the other thread.

When I tried the software from "Flux" for example, I get much more dynamic. The problem was that you had to manually adjust a lot, and select other settings for each song. Sometimes was a burst and also pumps the sound. It was not perfect.

From your point of view is a decompression principle conceivable, or is that wishful thinking?
