Anyway, I was reminded by someone at radiodiscussions.com dat I still hadn't added asymmetrical clipping/limiting for AM. So I just added it.
I am sure the AM users will be pleased about this. I am a little confused by the AM transmitter section though.
Is the asymmetrical audio meant to be on the FM output or the normal output?

B.T.W. There's a small typo in the "Asymmetry Sttength" slider...
All outputs will be asymmetrical; reduce the Post Amp slider to compensate for the extra needed headroom.

Thanks for the answer.
Would it be possible/make sense to only make the transmitter output asymmetrical so that the LQ / NO is unaffected? (monitoring etc.)

Maybe renaming the FM soundcard ouput the 'transmitter soundcard ouput' and being able to switch between AM transmitter or FM transmitter might be an option? If you are considering implementing more AM features like a NRSC filter or pre-emphasis, this might make sense?

Would be interesting to hear the AM users opinions on this...

Right now the AM support is kinda limited, for example in the US if you want to use 75 us pre-emphasis you need to enable FM processing as well (!). I will probably fix this and make it more logical later, for now the feature is available for the (probably very few?) AM stations that can use it.

Wow. Turns out that all the Jack issues I was having were caused by a corrupt Linux install... I re-installed it last night and now everything starts up as it should!

New Linux GUI version, now with Jack support. No parameters needed!
http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-019

ONLY FOR TESTING, this version is not at all suitable to do actual processing, I just want to know if it works properly (sound comes out, no hiccups).

Notes:
- jackd must be running (use qjackctl to see what's happening - you should see it connect there).
- Only normal input and normal output work, for now.
- Because I'm not sure if I'm doing everything correctly yet I'm adding a soft beep tone to the input.
- FM presets don't work and output silence - I don't know why yet. Use default settings (no processing) or generic or web presets.
- Program closes after 60 seconds!
- Latency is hardcoded to be 250 ms.

Testing this in a VMware environment is giving pretty bad results (some weird things happen with the Windows sound drivers in combination with VMware as soon as I start jackd; after killing this Windows driver everything works fine but I can't hear anything), I need to do a native install on another pc for proper testing.
