Although many of you use StereoTool for radio broadcasting, this preset is intended for hi-fi systems.
It boosts Bass, Medium and High frequencies, while maintaining a constant volume thoughout the
various tracks played. It may have some distortion at mid-frequencies when very low bass and very low highs
levels are present, but, from my experiments, this is quite scarce.

Do check this one out....

I don't know about the difference between DSP or Standalone / VST, but to me, it sounds muddy, but also tinny at times. It also overshoots almost constantly (red output bars). To give you an idea about the overshooting, I'm seeing it on George Michael - Father Figure. That track is quite soft (low RMS) and dynamic as it is on the LP / CD.

I'm also confused by the use of both the Classic Multiband EQ and the newer separate Equalizer. That may be perfectly fine, but I would think that the combination would be fighting each other, and that the separate Equalizer was more for the new multiband and less for classic. I could be wrong though.

Also, in classic multiband, the artifact protection should be on, as well as some other options.

Do you have any post-StereoTool or post-Winamp equalization going on as well? Treble and Bass adjustments?

Hey Brian, thanks for the review.

Well, this preset runs from the soundcard directly into a Yamaha AX-700 amplifier with some treble + bass correction. Now, depending on the speakers you have, the sound will be, of course, different. I use a couple of Unitra Tonsil 75W speakers which are not that good at bass reproduction under 100Hz but have very clear sounding tweeters. As for the "punch", the preset is meant to produce spikes and not to be "flat"; hence the muddy sound with punchy frequencies between 100 and 700Hz - this is my own personal preference. As for the "tin sound", i must agree, George Michael's "father figure" does not sound that good with this preset. The highs are too amplified by the preset. But one cannot satisfy all ears with all songs :))

However, Cesaria Evora - Barbincor sounds just the way i love it :))

Thanks for trying & commenting.
