Acording to MPX tool..
- For max separation in DSB mode - Pilot phase to -0.65
- For max separation in SSB mode - Pilot phase to +1.90
! But then Peeks goes above 99.9%

Also, reporting strange behaviour with those calibration sliders - mouse/keybord.

Hilbert mode is not good.. there is strange spikes with SSB after filter - using pink noise, also peeks above 99.9%.

but other modes 1,3 expect dsb also have better separation with same calibration.
I think it's not phase problem but time problem between main and sub

Separation is still poor on 2 PCs dual core AMD and Intel, but I have another with 1 core AMD and probably is good.
All XP SP3 home.

Real test is much more strange than averything to make separation as good as DSSB I must calibrate more than -8deg tested on 2 tuners.
So I can open beer and drink and test it again after
Conclusion:
Probably problem is not in ST, but different effect in decoding SSB signal.
I have 2 smartphones witch separation DSSB is perfect, with SSB audible poorer, I know hardware is designed with internal compensation transmision loss for DSSB.

I agree wholeheartedly about the proper testing. That's something you may be tired of hearing from me, but I only mention it because I have concerns.

The main concern that I still have is the testing of filters in isolation, aka "best-case". Over the past few pages in this thread, there have been discussions about the total CPU load and its' effects on the audio. To be honest, I've been somewhat surprised that the issues have been happening at less than full load. That could be the beginning of the exhaustion of larger cache sizes.

Please give some consideration to changing the testing methodology for deciding what is the "optimized" version away from best-case testing.

BTW output FM buffer is shows always maximum in standard mode without new clipper too, is it correct?

I too am having problems with the last beta.

Have seen red output meters and a buffer issue. (I should look into this, not sure if it is purely CPU related)
Also noticed odd spectrum output (noise/other?) when changing CPU slider etc.

Interesting. If conditions were exactly the same it can help a lot. For our local radiostation it could help with receiving problems of car radios because of trees, some buildings etc? I know there are no mountains here in Netherlands, but I ask myself if SSB will do the trick for these problems to receive our station

According to people I spoke with at the NAB, conditions were very different. (I talked to someone who didn't believe the video and actually collected all the weather information for this area around the time of this recording). Also the music is different. This makes it very had to compare.

That's why I'm saying it needs to be tested more. If possible by driving somewhere and remotely switching SSB on and off (you could do that on a phone via the web interface). Same conditions, same day, same music.
