Do the beta versions have a problem keeping the registration intact? I've entered my key twice and it's been accepted each time yet after a reboot is still says Advanced Clipper and FM used but not registered.
Is this the VST or another version? I just got a report from someone about this type of behavior in the VST version...

It *should* work.
It's the stand alone version.

same here.. in the standalone version..

Found another problem:

Something in the new multiband (* and the declipper) actually causes CPU usage to be higher at 1024 samples than at 2048 samples.

I got on the path to discovering this when I was trying to play PhantomFM's "80's" preset. Even though that preset is set to 1024 samples, and even if I shift it down from "realtime" to "high", it absolutely chokes my system to death. I discovered that setting the samples to 2048 still resulted in stuttering, but less than at 1024.

So, I then decided to try with GAP Impact. I observed the same thing - CPU load actually goes up when set to 1024 vs. 2048.

Then I decided to get away from all the new stuff and use my own preset. CPU load consistently goes down as you lower the number of samples, EXCEPT if you have the declipper on. If declipper is on, the same load increase happens at 1024.

Conclusion: Something about the new multiband AND the declipper doesn't like the lower number of samples, at least on a K8-based system.

Too tired to try 512 right now, but I will later.

I've noticed the difference you mention and also tried with 512 latency and is very similar to 1024.

But what I have noticed is that while the message box remains the "Warning" on the screen, the CPU goes to 100%!

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 04-046.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 04-046.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 04-046.dll

MB: Added lookahead
MB: Smoothed "per sample" level, improving limiting (but also slightly changing release behavior).

The MB performance in more difficult cases should be improved a bit again, but I haven't measured it yet (will do that tomorrow).

EDIT: CPU LOAD IS *A LOT* HIGHER. VERSION PROBABLY WON'T WORK ON MOST SYSTEMS. SOMETHING APPARENTLY WENT WRONG IN MY OPTIMIZATION.

I think version is broken Hans.
Bypass is oke, but when you put on the processing, a lot of cpu power!,and no audio.

Something is wrong with the compressor; if I turn the new MB off and the old on the CPU load is less than half of what it is with the new one enabled.

Wow, this took long to figure out. Turned out I was writing logging info in the compressor, and that really slows things down a lot. (And of course I didn't look at the logging info so I didn't see it).

If you're running on Windows XP, you might have a file called 'log' in C:\ - just remove it...

I'll build a new version in my lunch brake.
