Drilling down into GetHeader2, I've got the largest amount of time being spent there at CS:EIP 0x218742c, which is winampDSPGetHeader2+1029168, in the format of Symbol+Offset.
So far unable to figure out where this is. I still end up in a memory location, unless I assume that '1029168' is a decimal number, but then I end up in a system call that I only use if polling is activated which also doesn't make any sense.

I tried to use the debugger but it's completely ineffective on the release version, because even with the .pdb file present I cannot set breakpoints. Also tried VTune, and on the release version - again, with pdb provided - it only sees a single huge function.

Could you send me a PM with some assembly code around this worst hot spot? Then I can check if I recognize something.. Will probably be difficult :( but who knows. (Also, please tell me which things you enabled - only the compressor or more?)

No, I can't. It's not because I don't want to, it's because when I try, I'm told that the sampled address does not exist in code does not belong in any code section of the module. I hadn't chased after what that meant, but I had assumed that it was code that belonged to Winamp and was normal.

The other CS:EIP numbers I gave you report "NO SYMBOL" beyond what I've already given you, and also gives me the "sampled address does not exist" blah, blah, blah if I try to go further. I'm fairly sure I need the debug files to go any further, although I do admit that I'm not positive that I can't glean some sort of information another way. That other way is likely to be a lot more work though, and still may not yield any sort of usable information.

Same issue of calibration mismatch of dB to peak value in %

Moreover, severe stuttering if New SingleBand Compressor is enabled with anything other than Simple Peak mode.

CPU usage is down a bit. I can get the application buffer to back off a little.
i. De-Clipper + Loudness Clipper : 4.7%
ii. De-Clipper + Loudness Clipper + New Compressor(Simple Peak): 4.8%
iii. De-Clipper + Loudness + Expander: 6.7% ~ 7% [Earlier used to be around 9%]
iv. De-Clipper + Loudness + Expander + New Compressor(Simple Peak): 6.7 ~ 7.1% [previously 9~10% in Smart RMS mode]

I'd expect these numbers to be further less on Windows 7 with the same hardware configuration. Either Microsoft changed something in their audio APIs or the drivers are not yet optimized for Windows 8. (Difficult to believe in latter as both IDT and Conexant can't have in-efficient driver implementations)

Confirmed, something is broken (oddly it did work fine when I tested it yesterday before uploading...)

Also confirmed wrong dB conversions.

The Spectrum Display in the standalone for FM Stereo Mode is broken in beta 25. It was OK in beta 24.

025 Ouch! DSP won't play correctly on my system, just a hum and warbler noise comes out, however it does make a good creepy sound effect to scare someone. (I marked it, "Save for Halloween")

This version should be ok again, on top of that the performance of the clipper is improved.
BETA026:
Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 04-026.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 04-026.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 04-026.dll

THESE VERSIONS ARE BROKEN! THEY CAUSE CRASHES (DEPENDING ON SETTINGS)
