Town of about 38000 here... But I can get the local station of at least 10 (probably a lot more) nearby towns, some even on multiple frequencies, 5 frequencies of the 2 radio stations (one public, one commercial) of our province and also several from other provinces, and 4 public radio stations - each at at least 5 different frequencies - and a whole bunch of commercial regional and nationwide stations - the nationwide ones all at at least 4 different frequencies. On top of that I get a few dozen stations from neighboring countries. Finding an empty frequency is difficult - and finding an empty frequency that's empty everywhere in the coverage area of a transmitter that you would put up is even much harder.

AM on the other hand is nearly empty...

Is there a problem with the drawing of the MPX peak and power graphs in the BS412 section?

Disabling and re-enabling the feature seems to redraw the sections which aren't visable when permanently enabled?
Will check...
Did you notice anything odd? How often are the graphs meant to update?
It seems (Beta 052 Standalone) that if I minimize and then mazimize the Stereotool window (with BS412 enabled) that the graphs seem to be updated on return but just leaving the window open (even in the background) seems to inhibit that?

How about a way to allow the visualization of mpx peaks and output power with and without BS412 enabled? This might be cool to visually monitor and compare the 'peak density' and power of non BS412 enabled presets too?

I can`t set URL for Web interface skin
When click on the space for the url CPU goes high about 50% more and nothing ....
Web gives me "Access Error: 404 -- Not Found" ?!?
What`s wrong ?

Edit: Change port to 8000 and it works !

But still can`t set skin URL. Also Web interface is loading very slow .

Yes, I forgot one line of code that notified the widget that the data was changed. Running fine now.

About the display: I could do that, but I don't do it right now - the current method uses far too much memory (as you'll see when enabling BS412 the memory usage increases dramatically), and I don't want to write something new right now. Just trying to finish the interface. Also, in many cases the display will just be flat at +/-75 kHz since clipping occurs nearly constantly.

Ah, okay. Thanks for sorting that out!

I hadn't looked at the memory use before. I tried just now and noticed it climb once enabled. It doesn't seem to decrease when disabling it after this though? (Unless you restart the program?)

If you get around to it later on, having power / peak graphing might be a useful feature to some?

Anyway, the interface definately seems to be coming along nicely now. Good job!

GUI lockups? Please tell me where... And which iteration steps do you mean?

I normally run things in debug mode, a few douzen times slower than the release version...
The extra processing that you talked about just a couple of days ago when we were talking about the CPU load of "loudness", and you mentioned that AGC, Noise Gate, and MB had extra calculations that may not be needed...and that it was the sum total of everything that was pushing my system over the edge, not exclusively loudness.

As for where locks happen, it's really random, and it has to do with high CPU load. For example, not always, but from time to time, if I click the X to put the GUI to the tray, it will partially tray, meaning that the tray icon is there, but the GUI window remains "up", sort of, displaying normal GUI updates as the track progresses, but you can't actually do anything with the GUI. To get it working again, you have to click the tray icon to "really" bring it back up.

Another example is when changing presets while a track is playing. From time to time when I do that, the preset list will just get stuck and I can't click anything, including the stop button in Winamp! That situation does clear up when the track ends, but until the track ends, or you end task on Winamp, there's nothing you can do in ST or in Winamp.

I've also had an instance where Winamp claimed that the last track played was one of the STS files! That has only happened once, and it was after a high CPU load situation where I ended task on Winamp.

"AGC startup level" still not working when preset is loaded. However on StereoTool restart it is working.

I've hidden the settings that are not useful for different versions (for example, winamp bug fix is gone in stand alone and vst mode, sound cards except FM output are removed from plugin versions etc.). Also separated some settings (BS412 can be set without setting singleband compressor), fixed bug in AGC-style singleband compressor settings; Stokkemask is copied to FM transmitter settings (so it's now available both in the clipper and in FM Transmitter settings; notification is added); renamed "Final Limiter" to "Simple clipper" and "Loudness" to "Advanced clipper" (if anyone has a suggestion for a better name let me know).

This should make things more logical.

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 3-053A.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 33-053.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 3-053A.dll
Command line: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 33-053.exe

For web interface, you can still use Bojcha's skin:
http://85.25.73.243/stereotool_skin_b2/
I'm not going to improve the looks of the web interface until there's a final design for the whole gui, then I'll try to make both look the same.

Done:
- Hide settings such as sound cards in plugin versions (Winamp bug fix) (Plug-in) (Normal input#2 LQLL sound cards)
- Move some settings to more logical positions. (Separate BS412 and Singleband compressor) (Move Stokkemask to FM) - made a copy and added 'required Loudness' to title (Simple Clipper / Advanced Clipper with checkbox for Loudness)
- Singleband RMS style settings broken

Todo:
- Check GUI hangups reported by Brian and DJ_DOGGY
- Fix loading Loudness settings
- Remove MUSTBEFREED stuff that causes a small memory allocation and release for each mouse move.
- Singleband RMS style display broken
- Add warning when someone enabled FM sync.

Less urgent for usability:
- Design (several people are working on something)

For later:
- Add 'purpose based' view on settings (for example all settings that affect bass combined).
- Multi-language support
- Add basic/advanced modes
- Add '-6' '-12' etc. beside output bars where possible.
- Context sensitive Help (help button should be next to the preset buttons)
- Drag (resize window parts) lines, also between to/bottom part (scopes/meters).
- Confirm on close (stand alone version)

Ow confirmed... It also hangs too on close and no music seems to get through. --> Solved, building fix.
DSP version is good. Will try to figure out what's wrong - hope it will be related to the hangers/max CPU usage that Brian and DJ_DOGGY reported.
