In my opinion, most of the buttons and labels in the configuration area are too large, thus making that bottom "frame" to be too small vertically. I don't know if that can be corrected with a skin or if that is in a fixed position.
It is currently fixed, but with a different skin it may be possible to make them smaller. For example, Bojcha's idea for checkboxes (see links in the todo list) would save a lot of space - and switching to a different (smaller) font would help as well (also on the todo list).
Well, since I'm known for direct and frank feedback, I shant not disappoint...

To be honest, a lot of those large buttons makes me feel as though I'm dealing with software for the elderly or otherwise visually impaired. That said, it's good to have accesibility features, but they shouldn't be the default unless the product is being specifically marketed towards that segment.

Actualy i suggest simple buttons like attached below.

Or may be little darker background. is it good enough .
Because we have now one picture for enabled button , one for disabled , one for hover , one for active ...inactive .........too many.
Simple and enough understandable.

First picture is when function is enabled
Second is when function is disabled
Third is when function is inactive.
When Main button is not active , then sub function buttons will be without color just black.
When we activate the main function , sub buttons will be with the color they have before deactivation.

For more info - use that buttons and go to the STEREO BOOST menu and try to see . Feel like there is no change when you got mouse over buttons. Feel like there is no that change.

Also i may add a black edging to the buttons

For thats I`m talking about.
Imagine buttons with edge, If i find the option to add edge in this stupid Corel X5 !!!

FOUND A WAY :)

When you get over the button with the mouse , the black edge turns into white. It`s very beautiful now.
If you want i can post the pack to copy it to ST folder

No +1 or Like Button on phpBB, Sad!

In fact, I have not been actively following these threads on Web Interface and UI revamp for the application - solely because I don't perceive these changes as an attempt in the direction of a wide-scale commercial offering. These changes are, as they seem, just for the sake of change - Apple's iPhone 5 would be a good analogy!

And like you said, the 'Hulk' size icons, buttons, controls and fonts really turn me off. The new app interface and the web interface carry anything but a polished look.

I think an unreported or previously reported bug that hasn't been fixed or has been broken again is when a 3-band AGC user-created preset last saved with version 6.32 gets loaded into 6.33, it is either reported as or gets changed to a 2-band AGC. The 3rd band is simply disabled. All the settings remain intact.

I am needing to head out for a while right now, so I can confirm if there's an actual saving going on later. I think that there is, because the preset work I had been doing was 3-band in 6.32, and after some 6.33 use, I reverted to 6.32, and it was then, in 6.32, that I noticed the AGC was set for 2-band.

As for the other discussion about the button sizes:

I appreciate the additional reporting that has been implemented in 6.33, such as the levels in Noise Gate and other things.

That said though, the UI is a turn-off for me as well. It's too big and cumbersome. I appreciate that it was said that new users were having a difficult time, and I can see where a simplified view might help with that. For me though, as an experienced user, it is now significantly more cumbersome to make changes.

Example:

Before I could see everything related to a specific filter at once. If I needed to make a change, I just moved my mouse over to the item that needed changing and changed it.

With the new UI, I have to select the main filter section, then drill down to the appropriate sub-section, then locate what I want to change, move my mouse over to it, and make the change. If I want to change something else, even within the same filter, I then have to navigate the menu again. When all the mouse moves and clicks are considered, it takes a lot more work now to make changes.

Can I "get used to it"? I'm sure I can, however getting used to it is something entirely different from liking it.

Now, since I'm a "freeloader" (I have no money to give, so my saying is "I would if I could, but I can't so I won't"), I understand that my opinion has to be weighted appropriately. However, I don't think it's going to be that uncommon of an opinion.

There really needs to be a "Simple" and "Advanced" interface. I know that makes for more work, but it would have much broader appeal.

Got to go. More later...

Actually that means that you should respond!

And the old interface was getting near its end (I had more and more issues with it, and it will never fit on a smaller (touch) screen), so I did need to make something new.

Well, the web interface is very old and not working anymore now, so let's forget about that for now. I'll soon replace the font by something smaller - that will also make it possible to make the buttons etc. smaller... They should be big enough for usage on a touch screen though and I want to try to keep the interface from getting too crowded.

(Of course I could use differently sized buttons for touch screen and normal interface).

Just asking (both of you): What do you think about the Omnia 9 interface? Those buttons are even bigger.... I'm asking because I want to know if it's a matter of taste (you just don't like big buttons) or there's something specifically wrong with my large buttons.

Actually that might be easier than you might think. It's easy enough to show ALL the buttons and sliders of ALL the subsections of a specific menu selection.

You just need a big enough screen (or smaller buttons).

Giving this feedback I'm moving 'change the font' from the todo list to the top. When I change the font I can do a lot more with button sizes etc.

As I said earlier, the current font is something I made when I was 14 or 15, I used it for printing on a matrix printer. The problem is that when I resize it it looks bad, and without resizing it uses a lot of space. Bojcha posted some samples where you can clearly see that with a different font I can put MORE than twice as much text in the same horizontal space, and the same may be true vertically.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, several people have requested making all the buttons the same size (right now everything is scaled to fill the entire screen). The problem with that is that for some filters large parts of the screen will be empty, which I thought was ugly. That's why the buttons now fill up the screen. So, now I'm just wondering what to do with the parts of the screen that are empty...
