I like the horizontal split way. Also some things can be combined i think. Like Freqs and Multiband. And BS412 and FM.
Hm, the names are too short - freqs was the bandpass filter

But BS412 and FM is indeed true.
About combining things: There's another issue with that. For example, BS412 has several subsections. The same is true for noise gate and FM Hiss, which is why it's difficult to combine those.
My idea here is that for each filter, by default you get the settings that anyone can change. The other sections are for advanced features. So, each filter gets a 'main' section where all the really important things can be seen. And an 'overview' section that displays everything (same as current interface). But I don't think you want to go more than 1 level deep there, so I don't *think* it's good to have to select first 'Input', then 'Noise', then 'Noise gate' (and not 'FM Hiss'), to get to the noise gate settings. That's why I want to have FM Hiss and Noise Gate separate in the top bar. But.... That also means that BS412 cannot be combined with FM, which is kinda stupid. So maybe I'm wrong here.
Hm........ For FM it would actually make sense to have a 'Main' screen where you can see if it's enabled, and if pre-emphasis, stereo coder and RDS coder are enabled. And BS412 too. So you might be right... But then how do I separate these different BS412 sections? A bar with 'Pre-emphasis' 'Stereo' 'RDS' 'Composite Limiter' 'BS412_target' 'BS412_compression' 'BS412_behavior' is a bit strange. Sounds like a need another sub-level, but it's getting a bit too much I think.
