Wooh! Everything seemed to work fine in my tests before I uploaded this new version (I compared the output of clipper in the 6.20 against the new version and it was identical). I guess I must have overlooked something, will look into it when I get home.

@phoenix: 2 cores is correct, I'm separating the processing of the left and right channel. That's the only easy separation that can be made.

Indeed, when I enable ONLY Loudness everything is fine. And that's the only place where I made changes. But when I enable other filters it goes completely wrong! Odd - checking now.

Edit: Ah, it's the pre-ringing filter! That makes sense - I adjusted that as well.

Edit #2: Found it! (I think... Testing)

I suggest to reduce the overall clip/hard limit level from 0.0db to -0.1 or -0.2 db i don`t really know how much but I`m in progress to find out. I can show You guys why . And it`s not software mistake , not at all . If You want I`ll make a video for that . Believe me it`s important for the right broadcasting.I think that this is not hard to correct for Hans especially for a new version like 6.21 coming soon i guess :) .Just say if you want to know about this and tomorrow after work I`ll make the video. ST Rules !!!

DJ-DOGGY: That's what Post Amp in the main window can be used for. Why do you think this is important? (I know that it is for streaming, due to the fact that compression generates new peaks of its own, but they are much bigger than 0.1 dB so for those you need much lower values).

Fixed version:
Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 21-005.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 21-005.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 21-005.dll
VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 21-005.dll
Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 21-005.exe
Linux command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA621-005 NOT AVAILABLE
Linux GUI version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA621-005 NOT AVAILABLE
DECLIPPER Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 21-005.exe
DECLIPPER VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 21-005.dll

Based on an FM preset with declipping, I'm now measuring an increase in throughput of about 6-7%. Without declipping, that's 9%. Not a really big difference but it's probably enough for systems that were 'on the edge'.

Note: I also want to convert the declipper to use 2 cores. Will look into that tomorrow.

TODO:
- Create dual core support flag in Audio class
- I need to check if the new thread has the right priority
- Currently I create a thread of each portion of data that arrives, it's probably better to have a single thread process all the data.
- Found a bug in the non-SSE2 version of the clipper. Should be easy to fix.
- Now I have this, it's probably better to use Loudness as limiter of the perfect declipper output instead of the final limiter which is used now, but is less good.
- Convert declipper to use 2 cores as well. - Detection part too
- Fix memory bug in declipper clipping detection.

hvz, the declipper could use two cores that are idle, while the rest is done in the other two cores in a quad-core system. Is it possible?

Yes, but declipping must be finished before anything else can be done, so that would mean taking the new data and start declipping it while the old data is still being processed. This would double the processing delay.

So, it can be done, but is it useful? I mean, are there quad core systems out there where 2 of the cores don't suffice to do the processing in real time?

Well, it was just an idea that I had. I thought it could make Stereo Tool less core intensive.
