Ow wait. You hear it on the WINAMP output?!
Yes

When you move around a stand alone Stereo Tool window?
I maximize the stand alone Stereo Tool window and then click multiband window and move that over the stereo tool window.

Then it must have something to do with the CPU load or the video card. Hm, that could actually be it - could it be that your video card is sharing some interrupts with the sound card?
I use an onboard videocard with IRQ16, hmm the Trace Alpha also has IRQ16.
The juli@ uses IRQ19.
So it seems that that's the problem then. I hope i can change 1 of them.
But it's strange that breakaway runs fine.

Woeha! I just measured the performance of the Multiband section and compared it against version 6.10 - it's approx. 30% heavier now! That's WAY too much given the relatively small changes that I made (and in my measurement they were even switched off). I'll look into it.

Ok i switched the cards so the Trace Alpha has IRQ19 and Display IRQ16 and Juli@ also IRQ16.
Using Trace Alpha for input i still have the same square wave / vertical lines issue. I see them in input display.

Testing some more, problem seems to be Real-time priority. All other priorities are fine.

Then my guess is that the Marian driver runs at a too low priority, so ST screen updates get priority over audio input handling......

Can you set screen updates for stereo tool to lower priority then?
B.t.w. if i set breakaway to realtime on both processes it still works fine.

Been doing some performance tests on my laptop while waiting in my car. I couldnt complete the measurement because my battery went dead, but beta 107 was just as fast as 6.10 while 110 is a lot slower. More later.

Eldoradofm: Windows doesnt allow that. Thread priorities are 0-31; 0-15 for normal processes, 16-31 for realtime processes. There is another solution but that will take much more time to implement. For now just dont use realtime... And I think this is actually a driver error.

But it is weird that the audio processing itself does not cause problems - that should be much heavier on the coy than screen updates. Unless its the total hoi issue that counts.

Do you have a dual cote system? Ficould be that it's the fact that both cores are busy.

OK.. i am doing similar tests with marian and ST.

So far..
I can reproduce same problem but i can't hear it! Meaning. I am using 3-4 output and watching RTAnalyzer on same output with ST reseted!
I can't hear it but i can see it in RTAnalyzer. Also I can record it (very same 3-4 Output) and when i record it i CAN hear it.
Very strange!
Also it's true that with BBP that does not happen. So MarianTrace and StereoTool just do not like each other somehow.

Performance dropped in BETA109. BETA108 is still fast.
Quote:
BETA109 (Sept 1):
- Added "pre-ringing filtering artifacts filter" - a filter that removes (reduces) artifacts caused by the pre-ringing filter when the phase linear HPF is used. Note: I would describe these as 'rrr rrr rrr' sounds like what DJ_DOGGY talked about, but I only heard them when some filters are enabled. Anyway, they are nearly gone now. The impact on the pre-ringing itself seems to be extremely small.
Removing this one isn't really an option I think.
