Hans can you make it like this?

Red is Beta113 phase linear with both checkboxes checked.
Yellow is Beta114 with same settings and an extra HPF step performed before fm overdrive filter.

BETA114:
- Strict bass clipping is back! No further changes.
Is this check box linked to the Strictness slider? CPU load increased significantly at +4 (where I had adjusted up to) with the strict option checked, but is back to only a minor increase with the slider at 0. Might still check for optimizations though.

A HPF *after* clipping is really not a good idea.
Performing an extra HPF at that point will introduce new spikes in the signal. Feeding the signal WITH extra spikes through FM Overdrive will in turn generate DC offset, cause artifacts and lower the output level.

Really, the signal must be DC-free *before* it enters Loudness.

Is the current DC offset still so big that it causes issues with your sound card?

I have just replaced the BETA620-114 command line version by one that doesn't crash. Turns out that the crashes in this version were caused by a compiler bug....

I found strange artifacts in FM mode at 22-54kHz (if LPF is at 16kHz)

Image
Pink noise at input.

This darker green is peek hold.. because this comes sometimes. about once per 5 sec.
I also found that is generated by loudness filter.

With white noise is almost good ... only in two frequencies i have little artifacts around -85 db.
But when enable this distortion protection some artifacts in the middle appears in that band of 22-54 KHz yeah . Little but there
Bojcha have eyes of an eagle :)
See picture .. on the both sides is when no protection ON
in the middle appears when protection is ON

Bass is causing this to loudness filter... so white noise is ok.

Looks like the 2 channels are not handled exactly the same... So there can be small differences between left and right.

-> Update: Yup, it's Improved Bass Distortion Protection and Very Deep Bass Distortion Protection.

Fixable?
