Yay :!:

CPU usage dropped by 20 points
Yes but still too much CPU load! More optimization has to be done before final release of 6.20. I am still using BETA96 because of this reason.
It really depends on what all you have enabled. I'm not using Declipper, primarily because I don't have the money to buy a license, so I'd get the nag every minute, but also that I have very few tracks that would benefit, so that's a large saving in load on my older system.

Make sure that if you have a CPU with only 1MB of L2 cache that you check the "Take some shortcuts (CPU)" if you're using Loudness.

Yeah, I was getting really confused as to why I was feeding in more bass through Multiband than what I was back with beta 79, but ending up with less kick... :?

Now I've got to go back and make sure I didn't overcompensate...

Exactly :)
Now, in latest betas if you feed too much bass from MB it will just get worse!
You must watch band 1 and 2 to be not much more ober 'loudness'.. and to be precize..

Band 1 and 2 meaning the first 2 bands in Multiband, right, not the AGC...?

That makes sense. In the old protection code there was a limiter built in just before the bass clipper. To make sure it would not start to deform too much. I guess I should re-enable that one too (I will if it's still needed when the rest is finished).

About CPU load: The highs protection filter currently has a very expensive searching algorithm to clean up the highs, which also depends on the input (lower highs level = more expensive); this can be replaced without quality loss by something much more efficient. This is a development and test version only, first I want to get the sound right, then I'll optimize it. And I'll try to build in more shortcuts as well.

Hi Hans,
Wanted to report something weird. In sts file, 'Attack speed - Band xxx' corresponds to speed of release/decay in the UI and the otherway round for 'Decay speed - Band xxx'
Not a high priority thing. Since I prefer making changes massively from sts file, it'd be great if you rectify this behaviour in forthcoming releases (working at your space and time).

Hm yeah. That makes sense because originally I didn't really understand the meaning of those two words correctly and they were swapped in the GUI as well.

Changing it is possible but always a bit annoying, it would break at least backward compatibility (for forward compatibility I can of course fix it).

Anyway I'm actually planning a massive GUI + STS + everything redesign in the near future, so then it will get fixed automatically.

Oh yea. Will that still be added to 6.20?
