@Maic: Should be fixed now, FTP connection apparently got lost during the upload...

@Bojcha: The HPF *always* creates this chopper sound. Now if I move it to *before* Multiband, what happens when there's only a low bass sound is that Multiband drops the lows a lot, and the frequencies above it (including the 400 Hz) are NOT dropped at all - so the chopper sound can easily get 3 or 4 times louder. On top of that, because the filter is not very steep, the bass level will be increased so much that the filter is kinda useless anyway. So you get FAR less effective filtering with a lot louder artifacts. That's the only reason that the phase linear version of the HPF is located where it is in the first place - I started with it as before the AGC but that really didn't work.

Having said that, I know what the solution is - I can now completely get rid of the chopper sound using the same type of redesign that I used for the clipper. BUT to do that I need to redesign the whole Stereo Tool processing core. Which, given what I've learned in the last few days, has now moved to the top of my things-to-do list. But it's not an option for version 6.20 unless I delay the release by another few months.

@Bojcha, JesseG: Now that the clipper has been redesigned, especially because the Punch behavior is gone, the protection before the clipper needs to be redesigned as well - it's now aimed at protecting a clipper that _does_ use Punch. And that really makes a big difference. For now however, I just want it to sound better than before (6.10) - because I really want to get version 6.20 released since it's such a big difference compared to version 6.10.

Nice to know now that the 400 Hz chopper sound is actually a design flaw.

Ok when the processing core is redesigned the 400 Hz problem will be gone. :)
So then the filtering can be made stronger and also put before the AGC without artifacts?

Yup. And the latency can be lowered further (the biggest advantage of a bigger latency is that the chopper sound gets reduced; I'm now actually getting very good clipping result at a latency of only 3 ms

BTW: Loudness is not disabled, only a few sliders are - because they are not (yet?) supported in my new clipper.

Ok that looks promising.

When i look at the waveforms of beta 79,80,81.
I see that beta081 is actually less clipped then beta080, is that what you intended?

Ok, but still bother me why this is much less noticable when i put another ST with only HPF ON in front.

I converted same track in bet a 79, 80 and 81, with only loudness enabled. at about +3.50dB
Peek Level was..
- Beta79 0.0dB
- Beta80 -0.4dB
- Beta81 -0.1dB
