BETA036:
Reduced CPU load, now equal to that of 6.10 (on my pc). May have some VERY VERY minor effect on channel separation (although I have not noticed it). I expect to be able to lower the CPU load a bit further in a day or 2.
Good job on the code optimization / cleanup. Beta35 still had a 5-6% difference with the GUI up vs. minimized. I don't see a difference now with 36.
Great! Unfortunately it seems that my other ideas to reduce the CPU load further don't have any effect... :-(

Finally....after endless hours of searching i finally found the culprit that makes my sound knacking. It was the onboard soundchip! Even simple computing processes probably influences the sound output, argh.... now i throw it all to hell and get a good soundcard.

Sry if i thought it was your program.
LOL... I didn't hear it here anyway - but I just thought that was me :?

Also, speed is good now on the latest beta and I think you fixed the AGC starting at max like we talked about, at least it seems like it.
Uhm, actually I didn't....... 8-)

But good that you mention it, I'll add it to the todo list.

Maybe i have a suggestion to making ST better look and feel. I just played around with Paint and moved some switches, which imo would better fit into ST. The basic idea is to move declipper and bass meters to the right, fitting with loudness & final limiter. And there is room left for new things. ;)

Now:

My suggestion:

My picture looks aweful, but it should give you an idea what i mean. What do you think about it?

Vortan: That might be a good idea. The window is really getting too small... And extending it horizontally might be better than vertically. Never though about moving the quality settings this way - actually that might be a VERY good idea.

I won't do this for 6.20 anymore though, because it just takes too much time... But I'll definitely keep it in mind for later versions.

I would agree with Vortan and others, that the main screen is getting busy. I made a suggestion some time ago that if the Waveform display is turned off, the main screen could be resized and controls could be spaced out.

Also, you might want to consider a menu bar across the top of the main screen. Items such as "Load", "Save", :Reset: as well as most of the upper right selections ( Start in Tray, Bypass, Latency, etc.).

I have done this many times within my own applications based of configuration settings.
