Turned on FM transmitter, FM stereo encoder, direct soundcard access, FM transmitter calibration, no pre-emphasis as you said. (edit: beta36)
Infos there:
current output sample rate: 176400 Hz
soundcard supports: 96000 Hz or more
FM Stereo pilot tone: Ok, sending
FM Stereo signal: Sending to soundcard (probably Ok)
FM RDS signal: Off
The music seems to be a little louder than without FM, with FM stereo encoder on - the music sounds like mono, of course it isn´t, but i dont know how i should describe...
Ok, so you're NOT using FM, right?
What I'm trying to achieve is the following: In FM mode, the clipping is performed on an unsampled signal - which means that spikes BETWEEN samples get removed. This is better (and mandatory for FM), but it also takes more processing power. It MIGHT solve your sound card issue. To test this, you need to turn FM mode on, but turn ANY FM processing OFF - that includes pre-emphasis, pilot, RDS, Direct Sound Card Output etc.
The audio should sound nearly exactly the same (slightly more clipping occurs, so it could be very slightly softer and harsher). If the artifacts that you heard are caused by spikes in between samples, they should be completely gone with this setting though.
