6.20b28 is still affected by this with the new "made for ST6.20 Crank_It" preset.

Hope this helps?
Are you listening to a stream or to local media?

What kind of processor do you have, how much memory, and what operating system? Also, what media player are you using and which type of StereoTool installation?

I have an AMD Athlon64 3700+, overclocked to 2.75GHz, with 2GB DDR-500 memory, Windows XP Pro SP3, using Winamp and the DSP version of StereoTool.

Edit: I just tested a formerly problematic stream (ChroniX Aggression - found at http://www.chronixradio.com/aggression). No skipping / stuttering issues.

You commented about the declipper in the other thread. Did you perhaps turn on the declipper in the beta 6.20 of StereoTool? That will cause significant CPU load, and if you've already got a heavy load, it could cause stuttering.

No, ensured that the declipper wasn't on when testing.

Well, I really seriously doubt it has anything to do with the options in the preset, specifically because you could go back to 6.10 with the same preset and it works ok.

Best suggestion is to hit the Reset button and then see if the stuttering goes away. If hitting reset didn't remove the stuttering, then your system just isn't liking 6.20 for whatever reason. If hitting reset does stop the stuttering, then enable various filters one-by-one until you find what causes the stuttering.

Hans, if it needs not too much of your time (you have to use for more important things like the declipper improvements, etc.), could you please build a Beta 029 with only one change:
same as Beta 028 + save and load options for the Dynamics Booster (not for the declipping settings - only the booster settings)
:?:

Thank you in advance.

I also have issues when using declipping. Seems that my laptop is not fast enough but cpu and task manager wise it is more than fast.
Using about 31% on the i7 core.
Even with the biggest possible buffering it halts for a couple of seconds.

Heyyyyyyyyyy!!! This de-clipper and dynamics booster are SUPER WOW !

BUT but but but!! ..the default settings of dynamics booster are NOT NOT correct.

in some voices i hear distortions and i fix them by increasing the " boost samples above level ( -0.96 ) is good...)

boost stength is also good at 2.30 x imput level and filter at 2,77

@ Camclone: Dynamics booster is really not doing what it should. So I would advise turning it off for now - if people still like it I'll fix it later by only enabling it for low frequencies. That should get rid of all the artifacts.

@ Hans

I prefer boost strength at 1.25 (filter default) !!! :)
(not for broadcasting - for remastering)
