Hi there, I finally came around to uploading my old but updated (ST 8.00) Dirty Dutch 5 band preset. Loosely inspired by the sound of one of the Dutch public broadcasters, with bunchy bass, very bright top end and audible IM distortion in certain songs. Using the Advanced Clipper instead of the Simple Clipper immediately makes it a lot cleaner, but takes away some of the thrill of old school processing. If you want soft and clean, this one is not for you ![]() http://www.mediafire.com/file/vqmh10cop ... tch_5B.sts |

Hm, interesting idea. Some people who are looking for that specific sound might like this. I've been playing with it a bit, and I found that I can get pretty close with the Advanced Clipper (which uses the same code, just with more options) if I turn all the protections off. 1. Under Bass, set the Bass shape: Strength slider to 0% (you might actually want to leave it higher for more and more deformed bass...) 2. Under Highs, turn off 'Leif's high gap protection' (set it to 0), then disable the 'Highs gap protection: ...' setting that will appear below. 3. Under CPU, set 'Strictness' to 4 (not really needed, but this is closer to what Simple Clipper does). 4. Under Distortion, DISABLE 'Advanced Bass Distortion Protection' 5. Under Sound, disable 'Protect tones'. If you want MORE distortion, add some 'Soft focus' (this makes sounds more sparkling). You might wonder what the point is (since you could just as well use Simple Clipper). Well, first of all, the end result is tighter, and secondly you can use this on FM. Using the Simple Clipper on FM will cause overshoots. |

What about this hybridification of the preset? It's the Analog Pleasure preset AGC and Clipper settings applied, along with the Pre- amplifier set at 0db.
