![]() Quote: This full-featured, professional software transforms broadcast PCs into high-end audio processors. Based on a powerful processing engine designed by Hans van Zutphen, OmniaSST is the first processor to support the Telos Alliance's revolutionary µMPX™ codec. µMPX, a specialized codec purpose-built for FM radio, is able to transport high-quality Multiplexed FM signals over a small 320kbps data pipe. Reduced data requirements mean high-quality multiplexed audio and RDS signals can be directly routed over IP from your processor into an exciter, opening up tremendous possibilities for efficient MPX audio transport.
Check out the Telos Alliance website for the feature list and more information to come.
A signature design aspect of OmniaSST is its ability to clean and repair incoming audio, optimizing it before it hits compression, limiting, and final processing stages. OmniaSST can remove unwanted sounds such as a 50/60 Hz hum from bad cables, repair clipped audio using the Perfect Declipper, improve the sound of lossy compressed audio such as MPEG2/MP3 material, and automatically repair stereo phase shift problems. This remarkable pre-processing strategy results in a clean, loud, and open sound. OmniaSST includes purpose-built Omnia presets, FM pre-emphasis, stereo and RDS encoding, and shares the same FM reception-improving composite final clipper as found on the Omnia 9SG. Using an I7 class processor, latency can be reduced to as low as 5ms. A streamlined GUI means easy, intuitive operation. |

Congratulations Hans on this product. Sounds definitely very interesting. But to me, the question arises whether the any negative impact on the next generation of StereoTool? It would be a real shame if it did not would go on here. The functionality appears to be almost identical to the product above. Edit: Yet another question about this product. https://www.telosalliance.com/images/Om ... essing.png On this screen you can see the individual components in the processing chain. It looks as if you could just move the components in this chain. That's all in Stereo Tool not, but would be quite useful. Is it planned such functionality then integrate also in Stereo Tool? |

Edit:
Processing chain is not configurable in Omnia SST, maybe a future option, but that's for Hans to answer.Yet another question about this product. https://www.telosalliance.com/images/Om ... essing.png On this screen you can see the individual components in the processing chain. Stereotool will still be developed. Stereotool has a lot of beta testers and it was always the plan to keep ST at least for new inovations, testing an developement.

Really like the Gui. Don't really need the umpx as our pipe is 150 meg and were only using 5 for 44.1 pcm and some data.Waiting to see how Telos will price it. |

Another advantage of µMPX is of course that you can do all processing (including FM generation) in your studio, and that you then can distribute it to as many transmitter sites as you like.
