Today I updated to version 8. The new "Absolute Highs"-feature is extremely nice especially when watching low-quality YouTube videos. But the CPU load went through the roof. When I play audio, the load goes up to 200% (Linux version). With the 7.xx versions i had only 50%. I don't think it is caused by the processing, when I activate the bypass mode the load goes to 160%. |

True. there's a bug in the GUI code. |

I don't know if this is related to the GPU code bug, but also Stereo Tool crashes every now and then (sometimes it runs for hours without problems, sometimes it crashes after half an hour). I'm not changing any settings or jack connections. Also there is no error message, the window just closes. I think it crashes with a SIGSEGV. |

Maybe this helps: A few minutes ago it crashed in the moment I copied a url to the clipboard. But I can't reproduce it again. |

Can you run it from an xterm? That way the error will probably be printed in it. I can try to reproduce it here, but since every Linux build can be different it's very unsure that that will succeed. |

This is very strange. The console output just sais jack_client_new: deprecated Thimeo Stereo Tool 8.00 (for Linux with Jack) (C) Hans van Zutphen, 2001-2015 Setting priority to 95 Jack buffer granularity: 256 samples Activating Jack a303670 Jack connection opened JACK: Closing Jack buffer granularity: 256 samples Activating Jack a303670 Jack connection opened Jack buffer starving Jack buffer starving JACK: Closing Thimeo Stereo Tool closed normally. strace also just shows many nanosleep({0, 250000000}, NULL) = 0's and short before the close a few 'nanosleep({0, 1000000}, NULL) = 0's. I didn't even changed the clipboard this time. Maybe this is a bug in my window manager sending random close messages to the Stereo Tool window but I never had this problem before. I will observe this, maybe I find out what the reason for this strange behavior is. |

beats me. It works when i boot into my XP partition. If nothing else ill just do that heh. |
