Post subject:  Best option for FM transmission: DSP or Standalone?

Hello! Stereo Tool work with DSP version in radioboss , FM broadcast is in real stereo but does not send RDS . Is it better in the case of FM transmission using the Standalone version or no difference between DSP and Standalone ? thanks!

The quality is the same, but I would choose standalone.

Maybe it's a problem in your sound card, that it's set to 96 kHz sample rate instead of 192 or the card doesn't support 192 kHz at all?

There is no difference! If RDS doesn't work, chances are that your sound card is somehow not set to 192 kHz. I assume that you are using 'Direct Sound Card Access' in Stereo Tool?

Now I 'm working with the standalone version , and CPU consumption is better . I can not find is the "Direct Sound Card Access" option, so I do not know whether it is activated or not.

Another issue : the sound card Xonar DSX use is Asus and is set to 192 khz . In addition , today has shown me this message Stereo Tool on " ASIO" :
Quote:
If you are not using ASIO and you are using Windows Vista, 7 or 8, you need to make sure that the sound card driver is configured to use the same sample rate that you are setting in Stereo Tool, otherwise Windows will resample it, which causes artifacts any may cause the FM output to not work at all. Go to Controls Panel -> Sound -> The sound card that you want to use -> Advanced -> Standard setting.

Is it possible that the problem is solved if you use ASIO ? Would it be possible to work with that option in this sound card ?

Direct Sound Card Access is only available in the DSP version! And you have to use it if you want to have FM output.

For the stand alone version, ASIO is preferred, among others because of those resampling issues.
