I used the Perfect Declipper DST in Adobe Audition when preparing my audio files for airplay, and I also have the Stereo Tool DSP. It seems like a long time since I've seen any updates on Perfect Declipper; is the declipper or the Natural Dynamics processor in Stereo Tool updated from the one in Perfect Declipper, or is one identical to the other? If the one in Stereo Tool has been upgraded in some way, I'll start using it instead of Perfect Declipper to process my files. If there's no difference, I figure I might as well use the Perfect Declipper plug-in. Thanks in advance for the information! |

They should still be identical. One other difference between the two is that if you use audio of a higher sample rate (96 kHz, 192 kHz), Stereo Tool will downsample to 48 kHz, and Perfect Declipper does not. |

If I use Digital Stereo Tool (regardless it be DeClipper or Natural Dynamics Processing) on audio files with sample rates above 48khz, do they all get down-sampled to 48khz regardless? Even if it's direct file processing where it creates a new file? I ask because I was able to use files at a 192khz sample rate, and processed it to a new file, and Audition shows that it was still a 192khz file, and I didn't perceive any immediate down-sampling.... but I could be mistaken. Is there something I'm missing, and whats listed is incorrect? |

Audio above 24 kHz is removed if you process it in Stereo Tool. Internally it works at 48 kHz, the output will be upsampled again to whatever the VST host is asking for. |

Perfect Declipper is excellent. We use it in our air-chain to tidy up audio before on-air processing where our sites don't run StereoTool. |
