I want a sound like this, http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/asx/WQYKFM.asx it's WQYK Tampa. There sound is not great but I like it. Could somebody give me some sound settings? They stream at 64bit 22.1.

I don't understand exactly this request because of stream quality but you can try this:

- pres RESET
- set preamp to +10
- turn ON Pre Limiter
- turn ON Multiband and set it to "compress" and down "speed" all to .0001
- turn ON Bandpass filter and set it at 20Hz-11000Hz
- open Limiting & Loudnes Section and set "Deep bass boost" to 100%
- If you wish, in same section turn ON Hard Limit

I hope this is it.

Hi ncsflorida, this is a difficult one :-) Nevertheless I created a setting you might like. You can find it here

Hi, I hear a nice leveler and clipper in the sound. Difficult to emulate 'cause stereo tool doesn't have a multiband leveler as far as I know. Maybe you like one of the settings found here:

I used the last version of Stereo Tool. Hans made some nice enhancements again.
You can find the latest here:
http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... r_BETA.exe

or for stand alone version:

Enjoy!

Ok, I'm going to ask a really dumb question now...

What is a multiband leveler? More specifically, what's the difference with a multiband compressor/limiter? And should I add one?

I've been Googling a bit, but I couldn't really find any useful info (lots of places say something like "a multiband limiter is a leveler", well, according to your comment, apparently not).

Help!

To my ears it's a slow riding level corrector and can take care of a sound with constant lows, mids and highs. Most people compare them with an AGC. I think this is a nice explanation:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leveler

Maybe a multiband leveler before the multiband compressor can give some surprising effects (or multiband leveler with peak limiter and clipping). Inovonics uses a multiband leveler before compression:
http://www.inovon.com/?a=2&s=1&i=5

and if I remember well the old MBL4 by Burnhill. It could be that the pre limiter does the same Hans and I just use the wrong settings.
