Is anyone here familiar enough with both products, and have both products in house to be able to translate an Omnia 9 preset into a Stereo Tool preset? Have a O9 preset I really like that has a nice open yet aggressive sound to it, with very low MB AGC ratios but when I attempt to drop the ratios on ST to match it doesn't seem to sound very good at all. Currently running a very modified version of Hans's new analog preset on 7.70. The other thing I've run into is that obviously the GUI values aren't the same for many of the settings.

Both very different products!
Every filter has it's own story, from AGC, MB, limiters to clippers. Even ratio settings are not same at all. Both will not act near close with, for example, 6:1 ratio. Not to mention crossovers, filter shapes, psychoacoustic things in filters.. etc.
So they will never sound same.

But, isn't that actually a refreshing thought?? I think the two products should be individual and unique enough that it should be nearly impossible to replicate each other's sound. If they ever did, since they're kinda under the same roof now, we might see one go bye bye... Let's enjoy what we have and hope it doesn't get any more similar to existing product! mmmkay?

I totally agree with this, except the bye bye concept, I'm sure they will co-exist, but it's the same story as the Orban- ST discussion, my opinion, if you like the Omnia 9 sound (BBP and declipper) or the Orban, buy one ;) Hans did a great job with the new multiband which give ST a signature of it's own. The missing link, that we all pretty much missed with earlier versions. BTW I have them all here, BBP, Orban and ST for a time on FM, kicks *ss. I'm sure a few hardware manufacturers gets their hands sweaty, except Telos of course 8-)
