No here is a crazy idea, the new Raspberry Pi is much faster than the old, and the Wolfson Audio Card can do 24-bit, 192kHz. A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU (~6x performance), 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM (2x memory) Sound card: http://se.farnell.com/wolfson-microelec ... dp/2448312 Is it possible to run StereoTool on it? /Ken |

But, why use ARM when there are lots of x86 micro-pcs that can handle StereoTool ? First of all, there's Intel NUC packing a core i5 sold for around 250$. Second, a little cheaper there's the Shuttle DS437 with a Celeron 1037U - works great with stereo tool (tried it!) - this one is at around 200$. Needless to say both of there are SSD devices, they employ no fan and can run Ubuntu without any problem. You can also find 192 KHz capable sound cards on Ebay, some of them use USB 3.0 which both the NUC and Shuttle have. Don't know about the NUC, but the Shuttle has a 96 KHz realtek sound card which can only supply up to 48 KHz (unusable for MPX generation and RDS).... |
