I have a bunch of questions...- Version 4.02, Winamp plugin? or...? - Did you change anything? - Please check what all the displays are doing - for example, do you see an input waveform but no output waveform? Can you see if processing is still taking place, or is it stuck? If it's stuck, could you check the CPU load? - Does restarting it help? If not, what happens if you press RESET or choose a preset? |

- Version 4.02, Winamp plugin? or...? v4.02..the one you modified so it wouldnt make the background go tan..Winamp Plugin - Did you change anything? not a thing - Please check what all the displays are doing - for example, do you see an input waveform but no output waveform? Can you see if processing is still taking place, or is it stuck? If it's stuck, could you check the CPU load? it doesnt look like its stuck because all of the meters are still moving to whats supposed to be the music but i have no audio unless i bypass all. 20-30% CPU load - Does restarting it help? If not, what happens if you press RESET or choose a preset? no, i just clicked reset and i got audio back but whenever i turned on ANY option the audio cut out again, and still with everything off (not bypassing all) i get this crackling sort of buzzing sound like an old tape player but the bypass button gets rid of that |

- Reinstall winamp (and when you there, install latest) - remove and install again Stereo Tool DSP plgin. - if needed check latest Drivers for sound card - instal latest DirectX (for XP it's 9.0c mart 2009) |

Actually, I don't expect any of these steps to help...- remove and install again Stereo Tool DSP plgin. - if needed check latest Drivers for sound card - instal latest DirectX (for XP it's 9.0c mart 2009) If with Stereo Tool set to Bypass, there's no problem, then the problem must be caused inside Stereo Tool. The only thing I can imagine is that there is some setting in Stereo Tool that causes this, and doesn't respond to pressing RESET. First, could you try the latest beta? I have cleaned up some code, it's not very likely but it might just solve the problem. http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... r_BETA.exe If this does not work, could you try the following? 1. Close Stereo Tool. 2. RENAME your Stereo Tool .ini file, which is normally found in C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\dsp_stereo_tool.ini . For example rename it to dsp_stereo_tool.ini.old . 3. Open Stereo Tool again. This will restore the default settings after the first installation. If this solves the problem, please send me a copy of your (renamed) .ini file so I can look into it and see what went wrong - if it went wrong on your end, others may get the same problem. If this does not solve the problem, I'm completely lost and you might as well try what Bojcha said. But like I said, if the problem is inside Stereo Tool, I really wouldn't know why that would solve anything. |

I also had this issue; the preset I use is from an older version(I'd hate to have to go through the tweaking again), but it was working until I restarted the computer. Edit - In fact, it works if I reset the settings, and stops when I load the preset. Everything fixed when I renamed the ini. You might be interested to know that the ocsillioscope didn't work before this. I didn't even know it was there, it was just a black box before. I think I've found it. In version 4.00 I've built in detection that avoids the end of the previous song to be played at the start of the next song. If there's a long delay between subsequent calls to Stereo Tool, the buffers are cleared. By default this time should be 1.5 seconds. But for some reason (I still have to check why), in your .ini file it's set to 0 seconds - so it's cleared continuously. Which is why you hear nothing or short chops of sound. Quick workaround: Go to "Configure audio and display", and either disable "Clear buffer if no data arrives for...", or set the time high enough (1.5 seconds should normally work fine). I'll include a minimum value for this setting, and if it's set lower than that I'll restore the default setting. |
