Post subject: | MPX Cable....help?! |
I spent the cash and waited two months for a esi juli@ xte. now, my BW TX 150 has mpx inputs, BNC. my jul@ has rca and trs outputs and inputs. what cable do i need to hook to my transmitter.....1/4 trs to bnc or rca to bnc? also, i think it has a left/right output, do i need to have a left right into a single connector? ive never used an mpx cable so any info would be great and appreciated. |

Try an RCA to BNC, good quality cable and only as long as you need it. MPX is an unbalanced signal so using the TRS is not necessary. With StereoTool using MPX it is the same MultiPleXed signal out of both Left and Right. Only use either left or right not both paralleled. |

There are even RCA-to-BNC connectors available... Btw the MPX signal *can* be balanced but most transmitters use an unbalanced input for it (not all though!). |

is there a diagram of the cable-pinouts. jack to BNC second. can you use both outputs at the same time to feed two (2) transmitters located at the same transmission site (2 transmitters are stacked with both a different freq) thank you marco |

I can answer question #2: Yes. For #1: I would guess center to center, outside to outside... but it should be easy to find that on Google. |

Y'all are making this *way* too complicated. At the end of the day, composite MPX is still just audio. For example: for the ESI Juli@ sound card, with 1/4 inch outputs: 1) One of these: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2 2) Adapted to one of these: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2 3) (Assuming a BNC composite input to the exciter/transmitter)...connected via one of these: http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2 $3.61 U.S. at volume pricing levels. Have fun! |

I should probably add (what has been asked multiple times already) separate level and tilt corrections for the left and right channel...
